Joyful Noise label

Post by greginchains »

many of us subscribe to the yearly flexi series, and pre-orders do get linked, but now their label has it's own topic.

The first release of interest to me in 2013 is this:
http://www.joyfulnoiserecordings.com/an ... d-yow.html

Now I'm considering the monthly VIP fees, even though I don't order too much from their site. Who else has a VIP subscription? And how has it helped you this year?
I only wanted to be good enough, but I'm not.

I actually just joined so I could buy this package. I also picked up Kishi Bashi's 7" box set earlier in the year:

I'm a VIP subscriber. If you paid for the year in advance it was a discount over the monthly charge. You get MP3s of everything they put out, so you definitely get your money's worth even if you don't buy any VIP exclusive vinyl. And you get a discount on anything you do buy.

So far I got the 3 Kishi Bashi singles, just the singles not the frame. I think VIP members had dibs on the first 100 numbered frames or something.

And I also preordered the Cause&Effect 3x7" set that you linked above. I try to support Thurston Moore anyway I can.

In summary, I totally think it's worth it.

That frame is awesome, wish I could get about 5 more.
In January they sent all VIPs a special tape, instead of hand numbered it had your name on it.

I plan on getting the $5 VIP monthly fees, but for this first purchase of one, their site is trying to charge $3.14 for shipping. Is that normal?

I went ahead and started the VIP payments, which are now on auto pay. You would need to cancel future payments yourself if you are considering it too. I then paid for the VIP set of 3 cause and effect singles.

Joyful Noise sent out an eamil sometime in the past few days about the 2014 Flexi subscription. I have the first two but I'm really hesitant to pick up the third. I love the custom boxes and the way it's all presented but I don't think I need a 3rd year of JNR artists' flexi discs that I barely listen to.

Anyone else feel the same way or am I crazy?
Hey, it's just a fucking record. Chill.

I have the first 2 and I am set on sitting out this year unless there is an artist announced that I just can't miss.
I just rarely listen to Flexis.
