Bands from Fat Wreck Chords

Post by theeradicaleclectic »

Im bouncing around these days enjoying this and that from my collection... despite the fact that i am not really a collector persay so much as a fine supporter of bands over the years in the form of independent industry appreciation... thanks to the 'One that Got Away' thread ive been reminiscing all those old shows and vinyls that lurk quietly in their shelving and wondered what history you folks have with this label?? Or maybe you were into these bands before they were on this label...

Image

i have met a few people there that i see come over here to visit and enjoy... so... anyone on that label who is a fan here?? just wondering...

I've always loved Lagwagon's "Let's talk about feelings"
Hyperbole used for effect!

Old Man Markley and No Use For a Name! (And by extension Tony Sly's solo stuff)

Also... Chixdiggit!

over the years i would say that i have listened to these folks on that list

Propaghandi
Rise Against
Anti-Flag
Sub Humans
Less Than Jake
Avail
Dickies
Descendents
and more recently a few more on the list

there is also a lot of good discussion about other bands from that genre who are not on that label though as well... its also a collectors forum

I only have the Gimmes LPs. I've seen a couple of others live but I can't say anyone in particular resonated with me that much.

I've liked 80% of those bands at one point or other in my adult life

Against Me! has been one of my favorite bands since I was in middle school.
They have some GREAT really inexpensive vinyl on the total treble sight.
A lot of which comes on awesome colored vinyl!
Wait till you see the packaging on "sink Florida sink"

I've listened to NOFX and Less Than Jake since I was younger also.
Never really delved too deep, but what I know I love.
"Dopeman" and "Franco UnAmerican" come to mind.
“I’M GONNA KILL MY BROTHER JACK
I’M GONNA KILL MY BROTHER JACK
I’M GONNA STAB HIM RIGHT IN THE BACK
PUT HIM IN THIS HOLE
AND HE’LL NEVER COME BACK
‘MEMBER THAT?”
