Times are hard and I am considering selling my whole Grim collection. I am really torn and not fully ready to do this so I want to see if there is some interest first. Introducing the one and only Kiwi king of lo-fi country-punk! New Zealand's own... Darcy Clay!

(hold for applause)

Darcy earned his place in outsider rock lore in 1997 with only 6 songs, recorded in his bedroom to 4-track cassette tape. With catchy dirtier-than-dirt guitar riffs and a punch-drunk attitude, the breakout track "Jesus I Was Evil" is about as close to lo-fi perfection you'll ever experience. The tune climbed higher than anyone could've expected, improbably reaching #5 on New Zealand's top singles chart and catapulting the EP to gold status (more than 7500 copies sold).

Unfortunately Darcy's output is painfully sparse and we'll never know what might have been. In 1998, after a year of one amazing turn after another, he unexpectedly took his own life. He was suddenly gone, leaving us with only the 6 track EP, a handful of live recordings and the memory of one of the most fascinating young voices in rock history. He was truly ahead of his time.

We're proud to continue his story here in America with two tracks from his fabled EP. The funky-synth lo-fi masterpiece "Jesus I Was Evil" and a truly punk cover of Dolly Parton's "Jolene" (recorded years before the White Stripes even existed). Tell your friends. Tell your enemies. Tell everyone. Darcy Clay has arrived stateside.

This 4 song EP - GRIM025 will drop on Friday Oct 2nd @ 10PM EST, another small amount will be released early Saturday morning for those overseas.

Another special Halloween variant of this will drop on Halloween night separate from anything released on the 2nd, stay tuned for details.

Completely spaced on the sale, logged in at 10:15 and figured with three color variants, a bundle and various older pieces I'd have no problem getting a copy at a later date.
WRONG
I went back ten minutes later, saw there was only the red pressing available and immediately rushed to check out only to find it was sold out.
Discouraged, I refreshed a few times and ultimately took it out of my cart.
I figured, why not try at least once more?
I add a copy, rush through checkout, and return to the site only to find it is now completely sold out.
Someone must've had one in their cart and backed out and left me with the last copy.
Can't wait to have it in hand.
Maybe I'll try for the Halloween variant.
It's been a long, long time since I've made a grim sale...

My experience was similar but a little later. Just all sold out. Maybe I'll try the morning drop. Halloween is my wife's birthday so I probably won't be able to get one of those.

After getting skunked on a few releases, (usually my own fault for forgetting to log on right away) I finally scored. I was able to grab a mystery item & the 3 color bundle!!!! I was sure it would sell out while it was in my cart. Nice to get a win every once in awhile!

So here is what is behind secret door #3. GRIM024 (JUICE) Regular and Variant Bundle, Uber Limited Darcy Test Pressing, the exclusive Darcy Clay Variant, as well a few Mystery Items. A few things to note:
1. This is a pre-sale - Von Munz is still working on the variant covers so they will ship as soon as they are done.
2. Juice will ship when the Darcy Variants ship, so they are a pre-sale as well.
3. Since it maybe wise to buy the Darcy variant alone and not fumble around putting other items in your cart, I will do my best to combine shipping and refund duplicate shipping costs incurred this weekend.
4. Both the Darcy Variant and the Juice Release will have a primary drop amount tonight at 10pm EST and another amount tomorrow at 7am EST (note for some EU people, day lights saving times are off by an hour right now so pay attention).
5. Darcy Variants are limited to one per person/household!!!
6. Clearing out a few left over back stock items pretty much at cost, snag em while you can at $6.50.
