Ok Swirlers,
You heard it here first...
Today marks the launch of Grimtale Records. We are an independent record label focused on releasing music that we enjoy, specifically to the collector and vinyl enthusiast market.
This is not about making money, merely a hobby to satisfy our desire to create and explore. It’s really all about having fun and exposing some really cool bands on vinyl. Every release will be done out of passion and desire to create something unique and appealing to both the music lovers and collectors alike.
Our volume will likely be low, maybe 3-4 releases a year but who knows where it may go. Our taste are eclectic so there is no telling what may suface from Grimtale Records.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Our first release should be a swirler delight. One of our highly respected and loved swirlers, JoseyWales (Joe Gotschall) and his band White Buffalo Woman are debuting their first ever vinyl release on our label.
Described by some as Funeral Home Rock, White Buffalo Woman, comprised of Evan Rutledge (Vocals/Tambo), Adam Murphy (Guitar/Organ), Ben Stimmel (Bass) and Joe Gotschall( Drums) fuse rock, blues, psychedelic, soul and punk into an explosion of new music.
Opening for acts including Dex Romweber, Dan Sartain and James Leg (of the Black Diamond Heavies), White Buffalo Woman is a serious up and coming force not to be missed.
White Buffalo Woman started in Minerva Ohio in Drummer Joe Gotschall’s basement below their family run Funeral Home. All four members graduated from the same High School and slowly started playing music with one another until the band formed in 2010. Playing two annual Vault parties in Nashville inspired conversations about putting out a 7" record with a yet unformed label.
Two great songs of theirs are now here on vinyl via Grimtale Record's debut release. Both "My Days" and "This Town" reach deep into the bluesy soul of the band to give you a glimpse of what they are all about...
The 7" single is up for sale now on http://www.grimtalerecords.com
Sales are limited to 80 on White Vinyl and a super rare hand pressed splatter variant limited to 20.
While you are there, sign up for our mailing list. Our second release is already in the works...
I want to thank Josey and the Band (Evan Rutledge, Adam Murphy, Ben Stimmel), Blackwell, Gotta Groove Records, Jamie Goodsell, Barbarann Garrard, Doug Granger, a few secret squirrels, and others I know I'm forgetting for the help in making this label and record come to life.
