Post by drummintodabeat »

Hey folks,

Just thought I would start a topic about something I want to share with everyone. A little something called...Mystical Records.

My friend and I have been running the label for the past 2 years and it's everything we've ever dreamed of. We already have 10 releases under our belts(with the 11th release happening today). We've also got an awesome site with all kinds of audio/video/visuals to keep ya satisfied. Come on over and check out our page: http://mysticalrecords.com/home

And just for the special folks, I send out a monthly newsletter that gives the low down of all our bands/releases. It is very entertaining yet also informative. If you would like to be added, go to our Contact Us page and send us your email(or PM me if you prefer) ---> http://mysticalrecords.com/contact_us

You won't be disappointed. Thanks for checking us out!!!

And now for the latest tidbits:

(7/11/11)

I know some of ya'll remember The Bay Gulls...well, they're back and they got a new album entitled Keys To the Beach. Overall, Keys To The Beach represents a feeling of relaxation, which also brings about a euphoric emotion that only the beach can provide. Basically what i'm saying is that Keys To The Beach is a great summer album and is meant to be blasted at the beach. It's like a huge dance party from start to finish.

The first single, "7 & Eleven" is streaming on our Listen Page ---> http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here if you want to amp yourself up. And lastly, there is a new promo video for Keys To The Beach on our homepage. The video can also be viewed on our YouTube channel. Won't you take a looksy? ---> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e-ianJYp ... ture=feedu) The time has come...are you ready? Let's Dance!!!

Keys To The Beach is now available via MysticalRecords.com.

Here is the latest newsletter I sent out this past Friday (9/9/11)...

Good morning everyone,

And might I add a Happy Friday in there as well. I'm sure you all know what time it is...it's Big D Update time. This update marks the 20th Mystical Records Newsletter that has been sent out. I remember not too long ago I was contemplating what I could do to share news about the music we release. Once Mystical Records became a reality(thanks to 5150), it was clear that I needed to reach out and communicate the good news we have to share. It's been a fun ride so far and I hope everyone has enjoyed reading the updates I have shared with you all. We are very proud to be a part of Mystical Records and everything that we've accomplished. We have come a long way in the past 2 years(12 releases deep) and we don't intend on stopping anytime soon. Big shout out to the kind people out there that show us love and support. We would also like to thank each and every artist for contributing so much to help us get us this far. Without you all, we would not exist. Much love.

With that said, let's dig in and see what this month's tasty treasure trove has in store for September....

As I mentioned in the last update, we recently welcomed Michele's Food And to the Mystical Records family. Might I add, they have their very own tab now ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/micheles_food_and). I also mentioned that they had an album cooking for us. Well, that album is done and ready to be served! Their debut album, Blowing Hot Air, was released on Tuesday, September 6th, and is now available via http://mysticalrecords.com/. To the naked eye, Michele's Food And may be just a two-piece duo, when in actuality they can tear the roof off. If you're looking for some rad-riff rock with songs that are defined with a heavy sound, we've got just the thing for you.

Also don't forget to check out the first single "Make A Disease" which is available for your listening pleasure on our Listen Here page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here). If you want to find out what Michele's Food And has to offer, I would go listen to that track. It fully encompases their sound and is just a tease of what the album has on it. I hope you all enjoy. I bet you would also love to see a tracklist, hmmmm?? Ask and you shall receive...

Michele's Food And - Blowing Hot Air (available now)

1. Your Guess Is As Good As Mine
2. Razzle Dazzle
3. Make A Disease
4. Bind & Decapitate
5. The Manifold Problem
6. Rotten Toe
7. Foolish Gold
8. Inspector Elder
9. Grunt & Grit Your Teeth
10. Tanker Ammo
11. They're Letting It Go For Days
12. Basic Reflux
13. Freelance Monologue
14. Cave
15. Ditch Hiker

How's that treating you so far? There's more where that came from...I can guarantee that.

Now, let's move on to some happenings regarding one of our favorite experimental groups we have on Mystical Records. This wonderful group of individuals i'm referring to go by the name of The Succulents. You've heard me go on and on about these guys plenty of times. The creativity of these guys never ceases to amaze me. Their first album, Kulturvultur, was an instant classic. It pulled together many musical elements that intertwined quite nicely.

Well, I hope you're ready for Round 2. Mystical Records is pleased to announce The Succulents will release their sophomore album, Internal Organs, on Tuesday, October 11th, 2011. We look forward to getting some delectable tracks to sink our teeth into. More news about this release will be coming soon and we will have the first single, "Peach County Blues", up and streaming on out Listen Page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here) as soon as possible. Get ready for The Succulents. Internal Organs coming your way soon. It's time to operate.

Lastly, as summer comes to an end, Mystical Records pumped out some amazing albums over the summer that kept raising the bar. From Two Sneeches bestowing Mufasa on us, to Dos Rats slangin' out Cheese. Then that Bay Gulls album, Keys to the Beach, dropped about two months ago and it's still burnin' up hot. They just kept on rolling out, one by one. By the way, all of these are available right here ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/mystical_music). If you haven't heard any of these masterpieces, I suggest you jump on board with us and grab a seat.

Wow...all I can say is we got some "Real Deal Holyfield" stuff going on with Mystical Records right now. Our goal is to keep on doin' what we doin'. I know as we continue on our quest with new releases coming out every month or so, some of the releases that got us started need some heavy recognition for starting it all. We've had some really awesome releases since our existence began. They were the building blocks for our growth as an entity. We here at Mystical Records are thankful for everything that we've been involved in/people in our lives and will strive to always keep the listener in mind and bring you the best. Stay tuned for more stuff coming your way.

Til next time.

Big D

Everyone getting that fall fever??? This is definitely one of my favorite times of the year. The leaves are beginning to fall to the ground and the weather is changing as well. And with October already in full swing, Halloween continues to draw near us. You know what this means.....we've got a hot cauldron full of goodies and treats to share. So with that said, follow me into this month's spooky edition, and check out what Mystical Records has howling for you.

When we last left off, Michele's Food And just dropped a heavy hitter on us. On September 6th, 2011, Michele's Food And released their debut album, Blowing Hot Air, through Mystical Records. Big thanks to those out there that picked up a copy. Blowing Hot Air provided us with 15 spine-tingling tracks that each feel like a punch in the face. If your looking for some heavy rock that grips and rips at your soul, then Michele's Food And is just the band for you.

We would also like to mention "Bind & Decapitate" will be the 2nd single for Blowing Hot Air. And since Halloween isn't too far away, we feel that this song fits particularly well for this time of year. Check out our Listen Here page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here) to get a heavy dose of Michele's Food And.

Up next, Mystical Records is ready to drop another bomb on y'all. As I previously mentioned last month, The Succulents have a new album that they are ready to share with the world. The Succulents will release their sophomore album, Internal Organs, on Tuesday, October 11th, 2011. I hope you are ready for some new material from these guys. It's about to be on!

From the first listens of Internal Organs, I can already tell it's going to be favorite amongst many. The album is guitar driven and differs from the electronic goth blues we heard on Kulturvultur. Internal Organs sounds like a southern rock album with synthesizers. The songwriting is much more straightforward in terms of verse/chorus structure and in terms of being based on melody. We here at Mystical Records can't wait for everyone to hear it. It is definitely a must hear!! Also, don't forget to check out the first single, "Peach County Blues", which is available for your listening pleasure on our Listen Here page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here) And how about a tracklist for Internal Organs??? Of course!!!

The Succulents - Internal Organs (Available October 11, 2011)

1. I Try Not To Feel
2. Lightning In A Bottle
3. Doom's Dinner Date
4. Peach County Blues
5. Jazz Spazum
6. Mississippi
7. Two Seeds
8. Trashcan Man

And if that wasn't enough to wet your palate, we've got another very special surprise coming on October 31st. We can't exactly tell you what that surprise will be just yet, but there will be something pretty awesome going down on that day. Could it be an album announcement? Or perhaps a new artist signing? I guess you will just have to wait and see. Get ready for something really special coming though...I promise!

Lastly, I would like to talk about Mystical Records' favorite hip-hop duo, Dos Rats. This past June, Dos Rats joined our artist repertoire and released their debut album, Cheese. Cheese packs a punch with lyrics and rhymes that just don't stop. It's chopped full of unforgettable hooks and it definitely brings the heat. If you haven't checked out Cheese yet, I suggest you mozy on over to our Mystical Music page and order yourself a copy ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/mystical_music) While you're heading that direction, go listen to the 4th single off of Cheese, "Asian Flavor" featuring. Hoodrat. The single is on our Listen Here page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here)

Well, that's all there is for now. We will continue to update the site and share all kinds of spooky treats as we draw closer to Halloween. We've got some videos we are going to pull from the archives that deserve a watch. Keep checking out our YouTube page for updates. And don't forget about that surprise coming on October 31st too. There's a lot more on the way!

Stay tuned,

Big D

Greetings everyone,

Big D coming at ya. It's been too long. I hope all you folks out there are doing well on this beautiful Friday in November. Might I add, it is 11/11/11...which makes it a perfect day to unload some heavy Mystical Records news on you peeps. You best be ready because we have a cornucopia of fruits in store for you guys and gals. With that said, lets ride on this bountiful Big D Update and cruise into the weekend. Shall we?

Before Mystical Records was even a reality, the music we all created together was just something we shared amongst our close friends and family. We were just playing and recording music because we loved having it for our personal listening pleasure. In the early beginnings, the bands you currently see on the Mystical Records' repertoire(along with many others) recorded many different albums and various jam sessions together. Quite a good number of albums and songs to be honest. So, we were thinking we needed to showcase these hidden gems to the world. Then we thought to ourselves, why not create something really special out of this.....and that's exactly what we did.

It is with great pleasure to announce Mystical Records' newest genre sensation: The Retrospective Series

Our first retro release comes from one of our favorite groups, The Missionaries. Some of you may have seen some hints on our homepage as of lately. We are proud to announce the release of Original Sin on this 11th day of November, 2011. Original Sin is a collection of songs from two of The Missionaries previously unreleased albums, Going Out There and Mister Mystical Melodies. Go and do yourself a favor and pick up a copy right here ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/mystical_music) The first single, "Past Curfew", is now streaming on our Listen Page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here)

The Missionaries - Original Sin (Available 11/11/11)

1. Past Curfew
2. Llamas In A Suitcase
3. Non-animal Insides
4. Command Me Sire
5. Fakir Blues
6. Proper Moderator
7. Gut Rot
8. Smokehouse Blues
9. Southern Man's Treat

We hope you enjoy the tracks we have compiled for this first Retrospective Series release. There are many, many more where that came from and we look forward to sharing more of these very soon.

Next up, I would like to share some great news. If you look on our Listen Page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here) you will notice a new track(courtesy of our friends over at Full Moon Studio in Watkinsville, GA) by the group, The Charlie Garrett Band. The song posted, "She's The Girl", is from their sophomore album Truth In Lies, and is quite a toe-tapper. We want thank both The Charlie Garrett Band and the folks over at Full Moon Studio for allowing us to share some good ole' country rock n' roll. Go check out these guys(https://www.facebook.com/pages/Charlie- ... 1694356516) if you haven't had a chance to do so. Also, go check out Full Moon Studio (http://www.fullmoonstudio.org/index.html) if you want to see their setup.

Moving right along...let's talk about The Succulents for a moment. On October 14, 2011, Mystical Records released The Succulents sophomore album, Internal Organs. We all hope you are enjoying their new material and would like to thanks those that picked up a copy. If you want to get in on the action, I suggest you grab yourself a buggy and toss it in there. While you're over there, check out our eclectic catalogue of Mystical Records releases thus far. ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/mystical_music)

To keep things moving, I might as well mention a few new singles streaming on out Listen Page:
-Two Sneeches wanted to jump in and declare "Desert Snow" will be the third single off Mufasa
-Solomon West chimes in with his third single, "Scoundrels", off the notorious Injuns & Empires

Before I go, I would like to announce we have yet another awesome project we are currently working on. Although I can't go too much into detail about it, I can say we are in the process of creating a tangible product which encompasses where we want to transition to as a label. This plan is one of our long-time goals that we have been developing for quite some time. There will be more about this in the coming months, but I wanted to go ahead and mention there is something real BIG in the works. We are very excited about this and can not wait to unveil our plans to you all.

Well, that's all I have for now. Enjoy all the tunes and releases we have up on our website. And as always, we appreciate all the love and support from you kind folks. I hope everyone has a great weekend! Stay tuned for more from Mystical Records.

Til next time,

Big D

Hello friends,

Guess who's back in action??? That's right. Big D is back and going in for the attack. I hope everyone is doing well. It's been way too long since I last updated you folks about the latest Mystical Records happenings. It may seem to some that we've been hibernating, but that is most definitely not the case. To be honest, there has been a lot going on as of lately. This winter has provided us with plenty of creativity and inspiration and we are excited to share all the fruits of our labors with you guys and gals. We've got all kinds of tasty things on the horizon for you all to enjoy. We are taking some big leaps in the months to come. Some of you may be asking yourself..."What is he even talking about???" Well...i'll tell you what i'm talking about. So, get your swim suit on, because it's time to dive into this springtime edition Big D Update.

I say we start things off by introducing you all to someone new to the Mystical Records family. It is with great pleasure to announce our newest artist, Global Nobles. Hailing from Nashville, Tennessee, this dynamic duo is ready to take the world by storm. Their sound combines a wide array of genres that include: dance, soul, hip-hop, and little bit of funk. Mix that all together with some ambient electronica and it paints quite the perfect picture. All of their songs display many emotions throughout while spreading vividly colored images to the mind. They are certainly a force to be reckoned with.

At the moment, Global Nobles are putting the finishing touches on their debut album, Envisionary Motions. More details (track list, album cover) will be revealed soon about their debut release via Mystical Records. Their first single, "Gazebo Show", will be available as a FREE digital download starting 4/17/12 on our Listen Page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here). We here at Mystical Records are really excited for this upcoming release and can't wait for you all to hear it. These guys have some serious tunes headed your way. How do you like them apples???

Ok, I got you all warmed up now. Let's crank it up a notch, shall we?

As mentioned in my last update, we have been working on a BIG project that culminates our entire existence thus far as a label. We have prepared a compilation of hits that will only be released on vinyl record. Yes, you read that right. A 12'' vinyl record with a collection of the best tracks that Mystical Records has to offer. This has been a long time dream of ours to do something like this. There's nothing better than the warming sounds created by vinyl. It's finally becoming a reality for us and we couldn't be more excited. I present to you:

Mystical Records Sampler Series (Vol. 1)

Image

There will be much more info coming soon regarding this special release. We don't want to spill all the beans just yet, but we figured we would let y'all in on some of the progress. We will be sharing more details little by little as it nears completion. In the meantime, we wanted to get everyone amped for this release. We've got a lot of ideas up our sleeve for this one. Test pressing Contests??? Limited Edition copies??? Free giveaways??? Yes, all of the above. Let's just say, this is something you don't want to miss out on...I can promise that.

Lastly, here are a few Mystical Records tidbits to look forward to in 2012:
- New albums from Tweetsy and The Succulents...just to name a few
- New artists and collaborations with several Mystical Records recording artists
- More Audio/Video treats which will be posted on our Listen Page/You Tube Page
- Plus a whole lot more

In closing, I just want to say that the future is looking very bright for us. We've got a smorgasbord of stuff headed your way very soon. It's only a matter of time. Stay tuned!!!

Hello friends,

Big D here. It looks like summer has just flown on by, hasn't it? It's been way too long since I last wrote you all, so I think now would be a great time to catch you folks up on the last happenings at Mystical Records. We are ready to unleash some major stuff that's going to blow your socks off. Just go ahead and consider this "The End of Summer Mega-D Update". Enough chatter...Let's jump in.
______________________________________________________________________
Guess who's back with a brand new batch of acoustic tunes that will sway you back and forth ever so gently? If you guess Two Sneeches, then you are right now track. Two Sneeches takes it back and keeps it simple with his third album, Jericho. Songs about growing, songs about life, and of course...songs about love. This album also resonates within us as a journey that we all follow. We are extremely excited to make this our 17th release and add it to the Mystical Records catalog. Tracklist below.

Two Sneeches - Jericho
1. Engine That Could
2. Ajar
3. In The Future
4. Lady
5. For Thee
6. Madrona
7. Save Me (From Myself)
8. Living Like One
9. Pity Gone
10. Choices
11. Bye Bye Ending
12. Throw A Bone

The first single off Jericho is entitled, "Ajar", and is currently streaming/available as a FREE digital download on our Listen Page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here). I would go take a listen if I was you...nuff' said.
______________________________________________________________________
As mentioned in the last edition, Global Nobles just recently signed on with us and released their debut album, Envisionary Motions, on June 5, 2012. Their sound combines a wide array of genres that include: dance, soul, hip-hop, and little bit of funk. Mix that all together with some ambient electronica and it paints quite the perfect picture. To me, the whole album resembles a funky outer space dance party. It has definitely added a new flavor to the Mystical Records repertoire and it has been the sounds of our summer.

If you haven't heard these guys yet, I would definitely consider doing so. Their second single, "Ever So Smooth", is streaming/available as a FREE digital download on our Listen Page ---> (http://mysticalrecords.com/listen_here). While your there, you can also listen to their first single, "Gazebo Show", which is magnificent as well. Check them out!!!
______________________________________________________________________
How about we talk about some vinyl??? I think so.

As our 15th release approached, we were wondering what to do. We wanted do something really special. Then it came to us. We decided to compile a tasty compilation of some of the most memorable tracks to be released by Mystical Records. Not only that, but we are releasing it only on 12" vinyl! This is a major milestone for us because we have been looking to do something of this nature for a long time. The euphonious sounds and tones that come from a vinyl record are just plain beautiful. Might I add...we are getting it pressed on yellow wax and there will only be 100 of these beauties made.

As of right now, the preorder has officially begun and you can reserve your very own copy by heading here: (http://mysticalrecords.com/mystical_music). If I was you, I would go ahead and grab one of these before they slip away. When they're gone, they're gone. Also, don't forget we will be doing a contest in the coming weeks for a "test press edition" copy of this sampler. If you want to win it, I would stay tuned.

Take a look at that amazing tracklist too.

With all that said I would like to give a big thanks to the people that keep it happening for us. We forever appreciate your undying love and support. Don't stray too far, because somethings come when you least expect them.

Go and pre-order that vinyl!!!

Til next time,

Big D
