8/22 & 8/23 Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco

I didn't see a topic for this yet, but if I missed it...sorry! Just wondering if anyone from here will be at the SF shows? I've got my tickets for the 8/23 show. Can't swing 8/22 because I have a friend flying in for the 8/23 concert and she can't go to both, and I've gotta pick her up from the airport on the 22nd. I've never been to this venue so I don't really know what to expect...

Ill be there for the Saturday show also. I haven't been to this venue yet either, but I did see jack with the DW just down the street at the Warfield a few years ago. So I'm fimilar with the area, its kinda dirty with some sketchy looking characters around that general area but it is just off market street in down town SF. For the DW show I locked my bike up outside and when the show was over my bike was gone. Shitty way to end a great night lol.

My mom used to live in San Francisco back in the early 80s and was big into the music/bar scene. She described this particular area as "It's in the might need some pepper spray bad part of town" but not the "probably need to bring your gun part of town"...so that was both encouraging and not encouraging all at once. I was looking at some pictures of the GA standing area in front of the stage, and the pictures make that part look small, while it is actually a fairly large venue. So I kind of gave up on trying to figure it out before I get there, I guess. I live up north about 45 minutes from SF, so while I probably SHOULD be more familiar with SF, I am not. That sucks about your bike though! Do you live in SF?

I'll be making the trip up from pismo beach. I've worked in the Bay Area numerous times when I used to travel with work. I've spent months up there, just riding the Bart to SF on the weekends with my brother and our bikes to explore. It's a great city, that's why I've always been a fan of outside lands. Golden gate park is awesome!
