"Love Interruption" sleeve art interpretation
So, does anyone out there have opinions about what the cover art is "supposed to mean"? I really haven't been able to ascertain anything and would like to hear if anyone else has been pondering it.

Maybe it symbolizes a fresh start. Shaving off the old and bringing in the new.

I might be able to help you with the cover art interpretation and the white peacock insert.
Given that JW uses christian symbolism and scripture in his art, could he be saying this project is an effort to start over? (The previous post is spot on. He is shaving to begin anew. Good pickup, dude)
The new icon he uses with three wavy blue lines could represent water or baptism. (On Cobert, he did say he was named after John the Baptist)
He also delibrately circles the III and only uses 3 colors. A circle can mean eternity. In this case, could Mr. White be saying the trinity is eternal?
The white peacock is a male bird which loses it's feathers every year. It has been known to symbolise a resurrection. Also, saw him on SNL with (white feathers?) in his front pocket.
I don't own a record player, so I didn't get the message that was on back of the peacock from the single. What did it say?
First post of the year.

Re: "Love Interruption" sleeve art interpretation
well when i first saw it, i didnt realize he had shaving cream on his face. i just thought he was staring at the blade in his hand, as though he wanted to commit suicide. i thought suicide could be a way way that love could interrupt you ("i wont let love disrupt, corrupt or interrupt me anymore"). but then i saw the shaving cream and it confused me. also, jack white mentions a knife in the second line of the song.
another way to look at it would be that a knife could be used for good, or for bad. it could be stuck into a person and twisted all around. or you can use it to shave your face.
as for the peacock insert, its just explaining the lyrics of machine gun silhouette. the peacock is what he won at the auction described through email on the back of that image

look up the vulture as an animal totem, you'll find your answers there.

Or just look up the etymology of its genus name-- Cathartidae.

Wrong side. Jack's a leftie.

Have you seen the cover art for the 16 saltines single?12stars wrote:@flash.of.silver - interesting thought..JW's work can be interpreted many different ways I guess
Any insight as to why he has a vulture on his shoulder with an electrical power station behind him on the upcoming cover album?
Probably will need the see the rest of the cover art before figuring it out.
