Is it me, or is it there some irony in this? The records of transfers of old 78s sound better than the records of brand-spanking new recordings from the same sort of machine that recorded those old 78s.

So I asked TMR, and they said "The trifold sessions LP was actually pressed at United Record Pressing, as was the limited edition." Which at least saves me shelling out extra $$$ for the limited, as they said "I'm afraid it may sound similar." I've already tried multiple cleans of the one I have, without noticeable difference, so I guess I'm stuck with an album that's infuriating to listen to. Too bad it had to be that one. :x
