Worst Jack White Experience
So awhile back I was listening to this radio show called Kevin and Bean and they were talking about how you were excited to meet your favorite celebrity and it turned out the opposite of what was gonna happen and this guy called in saying he was at one of the Wiltern Shows from the Blunderbuss tour and he bought a backstage pass off his driver and when he went backstage, he saw Jack and he asked him to sign his copy of the Lighting Bolt record and Jack says "Yeah sure just wait here! Let me go get a pen!" and he comes back without a pen. Instead he came back with two huge bodyguards and says "Get this guy out of here and don't let him back in." Flash forward to Lazaretto Release Day (and also the day of the Fonda Livestream) I was waiting in line and I overhear this woman behind me talking about the same guy and turns out he knew him!!! I wanted to see if the story was true so I asked and it was. He was also a huge fan according to her. So has anybody ever had a crappy Jack White experience in here?

Someone here told a similar story a while back. Forgot his name. But he also said he asked Jack for an autograph backstage and Jack said to wait a minute and walked away. The guy said security came and told him they had to escort him out.

•<Jack White> we also want to come up with vault packages you don't like, a streaming service to make rich people richer, a t shirt
too big for you, and a bunch of shit you don't want but we're hold ing a gun to your head to purchase.

Re: Worst Jack White Experience
Jack's one of those musical heroes that I'm ok with never actually meeting. Not that I think he's always in douchebag mode, but he seems to want to keep his relationship with his fans purely in the form of performance, commerce, and recordings. That's fine with me. I like those things and rarely feel like I didn't get my money's worth (there's been some GLARING exceptions though). It's not like he's coming over for dinner or anything so his peevishness is not my concern. He doesn't owe me an autograph and I don't owe him applause for being out walking around or whatever. He puts out a record, I buy it, I listen to it and enjoy it. He gets my money and I get some amazing records. No label is more fun to collect in my opinion, but if he kicks people out for asking for an autograph or throws a hissy for people not dancing enough or whatever...well, that tells me the distance he wants between artist and audience.

It was a great show, even if we didn't get an encore.

I feel this exact same way about Jack. I even shy away from participating in The Vault chat when he's around, though the only time I ventured a comment he thanked me almost immediately.redflag wrote:Jack's one of those musical heroes that I'm ok with never actually meeting... I just like the artist, that's all. I also had the feeling that he didn't like the crowd in my first ever Jack show. I had a front row spot and it felt pretty awkward.
I don't want to spoil the joy of listening to him or seeing him live, which is all I am actually interested in.

Here are a few
() Cancelled tws tour - had to cancel road trip with my son to Glasgow and lost 10x booking fees for birthday gig at London o2 for my tickets and those I booked for friends.
() Epic fail on Icky Thump 12 inch order - nothing came
() Suffering a severe ear infection during Kentish Town Forum Dead Weather gig
The flip side is of course all the epic gigs I have seen him perform in and the awesome limited items I've obtained over the years.

I didn't think it was. Saw him in Montreal two nights after RCMH and it was 10x better. Radio City was average at best.Aquamarine wrote:It was a great show, even if we didn't get an encore.

Re: Worst Jack White Experience
Radio City was definitely my worst Jack White experience so far, but because of the crowd around me, not because of Jack.pj101ca wrote:I didn't think it was. "And the message is clear: if we want Jack White as our hero, he will entertain, but not pander. We have to accept all his flaws, whims, caprices and manias as a critical, sometimes uncomfortable, part of the contract."
