Blunderblue / who has one?

Post by woodisgood »

Okay. Blame the Saison Dupont Cuvee . . . the oxy . . . the Pappy 15 . . . whatevs . . . I still have my facilities . . .

I've been wondering for a while now . . . how rare are the Blunderblues? The Blunderblobs? I own an example of both. But the Blunderblue seems to me to be the rarest of them all . . . It seems like I've seen a few more Blunderblobs than Blunderblues by far. I'm going to make a (possibly?) semicontroversial declaration: I believe the true no-black-streak-whatsoever Blunderblue is rarer than the Lightning Bolt . . . certainly rarer than the Inverted Lightning Bolt . . . and it seems a bit rarer than the Blunderblob.

I want to know who here has a Blunderblue and a Blunderblob. Here's mine:

Blunderblue / who has one?

Post by Alabama Woody »

I have a beautiful blue one in a medium blue. Traded a light blue for $50 and a Natural Child test press, traded the Natural Child for a Dan Sartain Crimson Guard test press. I gave away a blob one in the pay it forward dealio.

I bought three I got 2 blues and a blob.
Not bad eh?

I then bought one on the cheap from EBay and got a regular IB to match my reg bolt. Lol.

I was going to list it for the big bucks on eBay but when I saw they only brought $200 I figured I would pass it on through here.

I love mine. I do not think there are a lot of them and surprised they do not fetch more money. My favorite TMR release off all right up there with my Bizarro JW with Meg's face.

Beautiful record I play all the time!

I wonder how many hands my light blue one went through? Who has it now? I know the person I traded with does a lot of trading, so let me know, curious as hell as to who owns it now.......

Best collectible ever in my record collection. I'm proud of the Crimson Guard as well. I have it in black and red vinyl as well as the test press.

The Blunderblue looks amazing. How often do they pop up? What should I be looking to spend to get one? I've only seen one pop up in my short time as a member here

They are rare as all get out! As far as we can tell they were manufacturing defects. You should be looking to pay a few hundred or more for one. Or just buy up any sealed inverted bolts and hope for the best. :)

Several sold for $200 at first and not to long ago. I think most have found a permanent home now and would take a chunk of change to get them.
There was one on eBay a week or so ago that had a side that was 99% blue and the other side had the bolt on it.

There's a part of me that's glad it worked out the way it did, only because I got to keep this beauty and still acquired an IT Mono. Hopefully one day you'll come across another. These things are really really hard to find, and IMO sexier than the Lightning Bolt. You can go on eBay and get either Bolt anytime, anyday. But the Blunderblue? Tough one to score . . .

If mine didn't have a bolt on it I would have been upset.....I am probably in the minority but I would prefer a bolt over a blue/blob any day.
