LFR question

Post by vorin »

Hi there, I have a question for y'all TMR experts out there. I recently picked up one by non-traditional means and saw some things that I haven't seen any news about elsewhere.

I bought an LFR from a charity silent auction just outside of Nashville where they also auctioned off a TMR Portable Record Player(CR6014A-BK, not the compact one.)

After thoroughly examining it, I saw some things that might be inconsistent with what people received on RSD.

My Side B has a playable etching of the TMR logo, just as it was announced

There are handwritten notes lightly etched into both sides of the LFR in between the runoff grooves.

Side A:
TMR-137-A-RE-1
A CRACKER PLEASE

Side B:
TMR-137-B RE 3
GIVE THAT DRUMMER A RAISE

according to this link, Ben Blackwell was the drummer for this cover of Love is Blindness - http://thirdmanrecords.com/news/view/ja ... bute-to-u2

It seems like the playable etching is standard, but has anyone seen those runoff notes?

They are on all versions.
Don't believe the 60's was the golden age of pop. You glorify the past when the future dries up.

Yeah, all 12" versions of Sixteen Saltines have dead wax messages, in addition to most TMR vinyl.

More important LFR question is how many people have leaking problems/issues and what's the best remedy?
