Asking for the date makes it seem like they are considering more releases.

or maybe it just took them a few days to blow up, attach a record and release ONE THOUSAND balloons into the air.

Wind could have been different directions or speed if they did it over a few days, giving different locations for recovery..

I thought about that. But I thought I had seen someone say they stayed around for hours and watched them release all of the balloons. Your hypothesis makes sense too though. I guess it doesn't matter much to me, as I don't think any of these are likely to end up in my collection.

The date is stamped on the post card. Either they did not know when they were going to release them or they plan to do something like this again.

Hey guys just scored one of these with postcard and ballon all tied together still. I want to frame it but I'm afraid untieing it all wil decrease its value. Does anyone have an opinion on if it would matter if I untied it all. As always thanks guy

Do up know how to tie a knot? Then you can put it back together whenever you see fit

Just be careful.
Balloons tend to disintegrate after a while and turn into a real sticky mess.
Near impossible to remove from whatever surface it's attached to.

It has been trending downward...and as more of these show up I doubt that would make them more valuable...
