Hah, yeah. This some sort of sonic highways rip off? We know that didn't work out so well for the Foos.

Goddamn.
I can't be the only one who was getting tired of all the twang from the Lazaretto crew.
Yes, these two groups could have both churned out some more country songs, but I'm just happy there's a new dynamic.
That whole disingenuous southern accent he puts on in Acoustic In Idaho just makes me cringe.

Exactly what I thought when I first saw the photos. Hope this means a new sound.

Purely spectacle, but yeah.
It seems like something that would be in his wheelhouse and especially if he's not touring.

Random observations -

1. NOT in Nashville. Or Memphis. Or Kalamazoo.
2. No acoustic instruments. Guitars. Two badass guitars.
3. Electronic keyboard. NOT a piano. Or a harpsichord.
4. Black. Not blue. Not white. Not red.
5. Guitar, keyboard, drum sticks, bass guitar, and....what do the other folks play? DJs? Electronic? Producers? Background vocals? Rappers? Beatbox?

There's a great different high resolution photo from the NY session in the Vault.
Word on the street is the woman next to Jack in the LA photo is a New Orleans country and folk artist by the name of Esther Rose.

Not sure what else there is to say at this point. All we have are a few photos and an announcement. I'm sure things will pick up once we know more. We're all definitely excited.

This:

figured there would be way more discussion trying to figure out who the people standing around jack.

But yeah, say around Blunderbuss, we would easily get 2 pages of comments within an hour of an announcement like this!

Ayy, don't knock the pedal steel!

I literally had a dream about this happening last night... I'm pretty excited, seems Jack has discovered humbucking pickups and guitars that aren't made by Gretsch. Carla Azar is back, and I am quite excited, and is that Cory Henry standing next to her? the woman holding the bass is... interesting, now I understand the "boobs" comments.
