It was on the TMR Instagram story for about twenty minutes before I posted it.

I’M GONNA KILL MY BROTHER JACK
I’M GONNA STAB HIM RIGHT IN THE BACK
PUT HIM IN THIS HOLE
AND HE’LL NEVER COME BACK

I skipped the NYC signing, and when it popped up earlier today I just couldn’t get behind buying it. I’m sure I’ll regret it.

Re: Jack White We're Going to be Friends
I bought one from Fleabay when he did the initial release signings. Paid $125 which I thought was reasonable at the time. Problem is I have not idea if mine is actually legit or not and didn't come with the 7". Woulda been nice to just wait it out, save some $ and get a legit one, but such is life. I'm assuming these maybe didn't sell that well so they're attempting to spur a few more sales/interest?

I wish they would put more autographed stuff up on the vault.

Re: Jack White We're Going to be Friends
I just noticed a few differences between the standard special edition version and the signed one, since we're all sticklers for detail here I figured I'd share:
First of all, the signed edition is a slightly deeper shade of red (although the photo doesn't show it very well). It's also ever so slightly thinner, which is odd because the paper stock used is actually a little thicker than the standard version.
Inside page is obviously different, although I was surprised there wasn't just a blank label in the non-signed version
In the non-signed version there's a sheet of red crepe paper in between these pages at the front of the book.
And the same again when the same images are repeated at the back of the book.
The biggest difference is in the back. The record is on the inside cover on the normal version and on the opposite page on the signed one. The normal version also has the record sealed inside a custom printed sleeve, whereas the signed version just has a plain black open sleeve.
None of this means anything, I just thought it was odd that the signed copies were apparently a specific run rather than just a sticker stuck in the normal ones. I also don't have a non-special edition with no record to compare to so I'd be curious to see if those are also slightly different.

The regular version mirrors the signed version with no red paper and the download card stuck on the inside back cover. There is no "download" sticker on the front of my copy, though.

Re: Jack White We're Going to be Friends
It appears what they're doing is using the standard versions with a signed sticker for the signed ones, with the record stuck on with a generic cover in the back. So basically, what exists are:
Standard Version
Deluxe Version (with red paper and record with original cover)
Signed Version (standard version with signed sticker and record with generic cover)
Standard Version
Deluxe Version (with red paper and record with original cover)
Signed Version (standard version with signed sticker and record with generic cover)

Seems right. I've got all three. I'm such a nerd.

Just been looking at my standard version (download card stuck on inside back cover and no record) and it has the red paper between the pages.

That's interesting. That would mean they didn't stick the record into the back of all the ones with red pages.appleblossom wrote:Just been looking at my standard version (download card stuck on inside back cover and no record) and it has the red paper between the pages.

Re: Jack White We're Going to be Friends
So does that also mean that there are two versions of the standard book with download card? One version with the red pages and one version without?shaneoftheroad wrote:That's interesting.
