POLL: Lazaretto - Just One Drink electric intro skip

Mine skips. It is the Vault LP. I didn't receive the black one yet.

Maybe we should comment on whether or not our skips and what table we have to see if there is a common thread.
I have my doubts it's the table/cartridge though

I would LOVE to know from the people whose LPs don't skip what their system is, arm weight, anti-skate.

I wouldn't call it a skip on mine, I would say....a minor flaw...to me a skip is when it catches and keeps repeating and requires my assistance to keep playing, my black copy does blip for a half second but it continues playing without assistance. I didn't vote, but I guess that falls under the no option?
It doesn't bother me. Even if the grooves don't line up perfect, it's their first attempt!! This record is awesome flaws and all!!

Am I the only one that's bummed that the download gives you the electric opening and not the acoustic?

Hell, I'd love to just BORROW a copy that doesn't skip just to see if it's a fault in my turntable or something!hsp88 wrote:ISO a copy that does not have the skip...

Re: POLL: Lazaretto - Just One Drink electric intro skip
Something tells me that what people are defining as a "Skip" is not accurate on this poll.
About a dozen people I know who have both versions: Vault & Black all say the "Skip" is on all of them.
How could so many people on here say their's does not skip? I'll elaborate for the sake of clarity:
Listen for a repeated lyric on the electric intro when the grooves meet. That repeated lyric is:
"Just-Just" (one drink...)
I'm sure it was not an easy thing to pull off making this, but the mistake was joining the grooves over a lyric.
If they had joined the grooves on any beat,(NOT over a lyric) then it would have blended in MUCH better.
So what if you hear a repeated beat? Repeated beats happen in songs all the time.
It's this repeated/stuttering lyric of "Just-Just" that makes it sound bad.
Lets be thankful that they did it at all and enjoy the black vinyl of this AMAZING album.

Both of mine don't repeat a lyric, they literally sound like scrapping for a second then the song continues fine.
