I think he has a point. I haven't received my Vault package yet and, to be honest I will only play it once since I have the regular version. The 7" and book appeal to me as does the collectability of the split colour. The work and ingenuity that has gone into the "ULTRA" LP is awesome. Personally I think it is awkward to actually play, especially side 1. Because of the hologram, which looks awesome, it is difficult to find the lead groove on side A. As for the different intros on side B, it really doesn't bother me with the "j-just" skip. The LP is too quiet, but there is always a volume control.

Initially my biggest disappointment with Lazaretto was the quality of the music. It's not an immediate record. After time, I believe this is possibly Jack's greatest body of work since Elephant.

Coming soon to an Arena near you!
•<Jack White> we also want to come up with vault packages you don't like, a streaming service to make rich people richer, a t shirt
too big for you, and a bunch of shit you don't want but we're hold ing a gun to your head to purchase.

No, other lps are too loud. Both Lazaretto and Blunderbuss were mastered with no compression, so they sound the way records should sound.

I played it at a volume of 80 on my McIntosh set up. I rarely go past 65-70. Most music around 50. It sounded like the band was in the room with me.
That was cranking it up big time. There is something magical about listening to music with an amp with 250 watts. When you go past 100 watts you start to hear it, at 200 it's a different world all together.
With no compression it sounds good at a low volume all the way through to a high volume, I love it. If it isn't loud enough .... Crank it up ! It won't hurt anything.

Oh well, "The Walt Stripes - Get Behind Me Jesse" will have to do for now.
