All the little imperfections make it better in my opinion. Normally I wouldn't say that but in this case it shows that Rey were rushed and being that it's the fastest record, it just adds to it.

don't get me wrong, it's not a criticism, i LOVE imperfections too. i was just staring longingly at your photos and trying to work out why corey was only referred to by his surname on side A, but by both names on side B.
but look at me, i can barely bring myself to use uppercase letters tonight. :D

and arewhyehen, thanks so much for the thorough set of images of the day's spoils!

What an amazing record, man. "Lazaretto" was a HUGE surprise for me. I wasn't big on Blunderbuss when it first came out. It sounded scattered, abstract and unsure. Not that it was a bad record, pretty sure Jack White will never release a BAD album. It just wasn't for me for the most part.

So when he stepped out to play Lazaretto I was expecting more of the same. But holy goddamn fucking shit!! Hit me like a ton of bricks how crazy powerful and cool it was! That song BOUNCES! And he sang with perfect confidence and conviction the whole set so that made it even more striking. Lazaretto has fun attitude and a sense of "I don't give a shit" that makes a great rock and roll song.

Then "The Power of My Love"! I was surprised it was an Elvis song because I'd never heard it before. It sounded straight up like an older Jack White song when he started spitting out the words. It was perfect for his style. The Blue Room was jumping. Literally, everyone in the Blue Room seemed to be jumping up and down to the beat with excitement at this point.

Incredible. Find one if you don't have it. Shouldn't be too hard in a couple weeks. If you do have it, spin it and spin it and spin it. Wow.

Is anyone else picking up a few words of what seems to be Spanish in Lazaretto...?

Lyrics for Lazaretto. If anyone who has the single cares to help, there's a few grey areas that I can't figure out.

Lazaretto

Ooh, my veins are blue, they’re connected
And every single bone in my brain is electric
But I think ( ) are the best of ‘em
(Spanish)
Come on in my (Spanish)
Come on in my (Spanish)
And even god herself has fewer plans than me
But you never asked me out when my scans were free
She gets (???)
When I say nothing, I say everything
When I say nothing, I say everything
Put me down in a Lazaretto
Born rotten, born rotten
Making models of people I used to know
Out of coffee and cotton
And all my (???) are begotten
Throw down to the walls make better for nothing
Quarantine on the Isle of Man
And (???) that I can, oh
(?) That I can, oh
I have no time left, time is lost, no time at all, throw it in a garbage can
And I shake god’s hand (???) and let her know when I can, this is how I wanna do it
They wanna blow down the prison, they’re lighting fires with the (Gas in the masses?)
And (???) Fall down I’m still too short, I make ‘em (???) on their asses

Why were the words in black like a redacted CIA memo?
