Not necessarily, the Black Belles got the Colbert Bump but never really went anywhere.
True! Nothing is guaranteed. But Pokey might have the potential for broader appeal.

Comparison is invalid. Pokey has talent and drive. The Black Belles seem to be unable to do anything without their "godfather" driving the bus.

Oklahoma native JD McPherson and roots torchbearer Pokey LaFarge have teamed up for a rendition of country swing legend Bob Willis' "Good Old Oklahoma," which they'll release on June 28th. You can take an exclusive first listen to their charming duet, which features skipping tick-tack percussion, fluttering horns and McPherson and LaFarge's swooning harmonies. All proceeds from the track will go to the Oklahoma City Community Fund's Tornado Relief endowment, which contributes to dozens of charities assisting relief efforts for those directly affected by the recent tornadoes.

Caught Pokey last night ere in Toroto. Great show. Played for just a little over two hours. The crowd was really into it, surprisingly singing along a lot more than Pokey expected them.

I brought my poster from the third man show back in June and got him to sign it. Great night. There's no way he's playing a venue that small next time he comes through. Lots of support up here for him.
Hey, it's just a fucking record. Chill.

Hoping to score tickets for his show in November.
He'll be playing at a small venue at the end of my street.... I love Amsterdam.

We've got some amazing news! October 5th we'll be sharing the stage with Garrison Keillor & appearing on @prairie_home & the Rhubarb Show!
Very nifty.

They always have a small poster when on tour and a few 45's. Same ones you see on they're website. T-shirts. Thats about it for the shows I've been to.
