What did someone post that they were going to try to rip off customers and/or scam TMR by trying to sell their "damaged" record.

Actually can't bring myself to destroy it. Giving it away to a friend who recently fell in love with Jack White.

EDIT: On the plus side, I'm gonna have a kickass clock real soon.

Amazingly enough, I received my replacement last week, and have yet to spin it. I think it might be in part to fear of what you experienced, Shane: I'd hate to have a replacement of the same grating thing (nice word choice, by the way). But...tomorrow after the family hits the bricks and heads for the stacks, I'll finally grit my teeth and spin that sucker. Look out 7a.m., here it comes.

Well, I have 4 copies with the same issue, so I'm going to end up with at least one clock, though there may be some extra Racs B&B Clocks that make their way onto the bay...

I'll offer again to pay for shipment for one of the damaged LPs...I missed out on the last Vault and would at least like to hear the other side. I have a Nashville cream 5th anniversary poster I can trade toward it too.

I posed this question on a different (and not appropriate) thread, so I'll post it here. Until tonight, I was yet to hear of anyone receiving a copy of the lp that didn't sound like crap. That said, I already tried once (before I gave up hope) for a replacement, and it sounds just as bad as the first. How many times should I try? Doesn't there come a point where it simply looks like I'm being a dick...( I mean, more than usual, that is)?

Feedback/advice welcome.
T'anks.

I tried once, got another bum copy and gave up. If they wanted me to have a listenable copy then they'd send me one. I already have a Raconteurs live album on vinyl (Live In London, which is superb). I do hope they make up for the bad copies in the next Vault package. Maybe a little something special? 8-)

I have heard of people getting a good copy the first time around, and I've heard of people getting a good replacement, I have yet to get one though.

I don't know at what point it just looks like you're being a dick, but that was part of the reason I dropped the whole thing. I have my original and got 3 replacement discs and they all sounded like shit (though some better/worse than others), after the last one that had supposedly been listened to and confirmed good (yet turned out to also be crap), I gave up. I stopped because I felt like it might look to TMR like I was being a dick (and I'm sure Cam was tired of hearing from me), and people were starting to talk shit about people complaining about the quality and telling those that were complaining to basically suck it up and deal with it cause TMR was doing us a favor by even having the vault, and we should be glad that we even get anything at all and not be taking advantage of their kindness. which I agree with to an extent, but at the same time (as I've said before), it's a business venture that is selling a product and I paid for that product, and what I got was not what I paid for.

I just hope the next package doesn't have these problems.

Yeah, the whole "doing us a favor" bit doesn't float with me. If they were doing us a favor it would all be free, but that's not smart business. I just feel like we pay for and expect a certain level of quality (and have ALWAYS gotten it, up until now), so why should we have to suck it up. You would think by now that URP would have zeroed in on the variable and eliminated it. That being said, I doubt it's costing TMR anything; it's URP screw up, apparently. I don't know, maybe I'll try one last time.

I've been mulling over whether or not I should keep at it, but I question whether or not it will actually do me any good to keep at it... now I'm more excited to get my 3LP singles comp, and to find out what #12 will be, I'm just trying to move on and not let it get me down  besides shortly after the singles comp shows up, Blunderbuss is out, then #12 will be at my doorstep... which will be good cause it sounds like Blunderbuss is going to get worn out spending all it's time under the needle and not on the shelf with the Racs B&Bs...

Man, did I come off like a douche, or what? Not my intention. Way too much love for TMR to leave this impression hanging.

i am a huge jack white fan. i love all his work. He is my God.
that being said. was anyone else slightly disappointed in his vocal performance on this last vault release? sometimes it seemed a bit weak.
