The only other streaming service I used was Amazon Prime streaming, which was pretty good, but relatively less options/fewer albums from artists than I'd like.
I've found some pretty good raggae/ska playlists that I've gotten into and they've got a ton of Sun Ra.
However, I am still, by choice, streaming at the lowest quality available even though I am subscribed to HIFI.

I was also impressed to find Parasite Diet and Sherbert on TIDAL.
Why stream the lowest quality by choice?
I have weak DSL internet at home so trying to stream the hi-fi for more than 10 seconds at a time isn't viable.
I literally expected you to say that you just preferred the raw realness of low-fi streaming.
I only wish I could be that hip.

Probably will. I pay for Amazon Prime/Cloud, Pandora and Spotify right now.

It's 5 bucks...I don't currently use another streaming service. I lose more than that on scratch offs a week.

Apparently it's the same as spotify.. except Spotify doesn't have Taylor Swift

The Beatles and Shakey Graves are two bands I tried to listen to on Spotify but couldn't (likely aren't on Tidal either)

I've been kind of shocked at the amount of material available so far in checking out the free trial. Old and new.

You can save some albums for "offline" play, but I think that is restricted to audio.....

It's probably all of them, but I only tested it with a few. I do know they have albums listed that aren't available, it's weird. Inside Llewyn Davis comes to mind as an entry in their catalog that didn't have any streaming.

And by "offline" I mean an encrypted MP3 copy downloaded to your compatible device.

I use my phone for music when I run, so it's pretty cool to download a playlist and use it in offline mode. I have a data cap so it helps with that. I wasn't sure if you can do that with other services.
