What the fuck. I just got a bill from FedEx for 15.95 for my vault package to Canada. Total value declared was $25.67.

These Vault packages just keep getting more expensive. I'm already paying $100 CAD for them and now I'm getting hit with extra shipping fees.

Why are they using FedEx? I'm already waiting 4 months from when I pay, another couple of weeks for USPS isn't an issue.

I did complain to TMR and they said they were working with FedEx to figure it out. Thought we had some kind of free trade agreement where stuff made in the USA didn't get charged....maybe just a myth. Cheers!

$18 for me too. One more of those bills, I'll cancel my subscription.

I complained to the vault as well. Not sure why they don't just use USPS like they say they do on their site.

First Vault pack I receive since they switched to FedEx and I have to say that everything went smoothly.

The parcel didnt even go through the customs check and arrived earlier for that reason.

Plus I didnt have to pay the 3 Euro fee that is charged for every parcel that is checked by customs.

a 3 Euro fee is better than the $15 USD fee that we get in Canada if FedEx even takes it across the border.

They dont look that much into the declared value.
What TMR writes down on the label is within the limits so the parcels were cleared.

Only USPS Priority International goes through customs and only because they have to be checked they are charged with that small fee.

Plus in Europe the packages aren't brought to your door by FedEx, like I assume does happen in Canada. Here the packages are all send to Sweden and then thrown in the local mail systems. At least that is with the cheapest shipping of FedEx which TMR has chosen for.

I just got an invoice from FedEx today for customs charges. Mine were $22.63. I am not sure why mine are more than the other Canadians, but I am definitely cancelling my subscription if this is the case. I can't do $120 for every vault after exchange rates, shipping charges and customs fees.

I just emailed Third Man...what have others heard?

I do wish tmr would set up a few satellite offices to ship from.

Hopefully they will never go with the likes of Pitney Bowes who eBay use.
The seem to subcontract the various parts of the service so your package could go on all sorts of adventures
