TMR DJ Bag—has anyone bought one of these?

Post by woodisgood »

Has any Swirler bought one of these DJ bags? Wanna know about the quality and how rain-resistant it is.

I'd be interested in hearing how they hold up. They sure are pretty in person.

I think I'll hold out for the TMR rolling backpack or fanny pack.
Whichever will get my lunch money beaten out of me quicker.

I checked out the cow hide one at TMR recently. The buckles were really nice, but the rest was meh. I had been looking at them online but after seeing it in person I decided against getting it. Didn't feel $240 or whatever it cost.

I'm sure you could find a really nice, handmade leather messenger bag on etsy for that price, if not even cheaper. I'd love the cowhide one (its interesting) if it were $100 or so.

Purchased one of these during the Black Friday sale. It's a really nice bag. Very well made. If you need a bag, I'd highly recommend it. It's really comfortable to carry and there is plenty of room inside, while not being too big. Records and record mailers fit inside nicely. Lots of little pockets inside for random things.

I picked one of the black ones (non-cow) for the special $140 price + 10% off vault code. Got it the other day. I am vegan (though I do still have stuff with leather trim and the such), the shoulder strap was a big turn-off. Whether it's synthetic or not, it is pretty distracting and I know I'd get a lot of unwanted attention from it. Plus I just don't think it looks great with the all black bag. I emailed tucker & bloom and they were incredibly understanding. I shipped them my bag on a monday and by friday, I got it back with a new strap! Can't say anything bad about the folks at T&B.

I love the bag, and for $120, I think it's absolutely worth it. If you're on the fence, I'd pick one up while it's at this price + vault discount.

That's nice to know about T&B. I've only heard good things. I picked up this bag at SXSW last year. I use it for carrying my laptop/notebooks/small music gear. I've found it to be very well designed: both deep and shallow pockets are situated well, It doesn't sag when less full, there aren't useless compartments and everything is easy to get to. To boot, it still looks new after lugging it all over creation. I don't think I've used it for records since Austin though.

Are you talking about the small lamb they place on the strap? I was a little annoyed when I first saw it, but it turned out to be quite comfortable. Agree that it would look better without it. Only complaint I have is that there isn't a small handle on top of the bag for when I don't feel like slinging it over my shoulder. Everything Ara said about the quality and functionality is spot on.

Mine didn't come with one so I'm sending my strap back. I want a small lamb.
