Re: Leaking Liquid Filled Records
I know it's been mentioned as a possible option before but has anyone tried to refill it?

I saw this and checked mine, and mine seems to have less liquid than it did in may, and i'm quite sad.

Trying to be an optimist, they will still be neat looking as a non-liquid liquid filled record.
I only wanted to be good enough, but I'm not.

Mine is about half an inch below the center label now.

Re: Leaking Liquid Filled Records
i remember seeing a picture someone posted a while back of a Slayer cd they had, that was filled with "blood" that eventually dried out. i'm assuming this will happen to all of these. mine is a bit lower than it was when i first bought it. it hasn't gotten any lower since i last marked the level a couple months ago

Mine's about 5/8" low. Some day I'm gonna top that sucker off.

mine is exactly where it was at day one. stored in a thirdman storage case and then it is in my basement where it is an average of 65 degrees. keep it dark and cool people and you should have little to no evaporation.

Re: Leaking Liquid Filled Records
Hi ppl,
I might have an opportunity to buy one of these very soon, but the one in question is leaking. The seller doesn't really specify and just says it's leaking very little.
How would this effect the price, how much should one pay for one of these which is already now showing signs of liquid loss?
Edit: I just got pics and it looks like the label has seen some blue dye.
Your help is appreciated, thanks!

Re: Leaking Liquid Filled Records
In reality it should be real easy to refill the record. As long as it doesn't stain your label I think we are good to go. It's avoiding staining the label that everyone should be concerned about. Store it with the liquid below the fill hole and if it does evaporate lower than the label thats probably a good thing. Keep the dye off the label and refill it once every couple of years. They should have drilled a bigger hole and put a rubber plug in there for us
I'm trying to be postitive about the whole thing. I just think we were overcharged if it is a novelty item. I think TMR learns as they go and we learn with them and they learn from us and we all keep learning. They took a big stride in improving their method of shipping Vault packages. They learned that the bag was too small this time and that you should not force the record in a bag that is too small to begin with. Live and learn!

The problem with this record is the cork once cork drys out it gets brittle that is once wine is opened it should be stored on its side so the cork does not dry out.

Looked at mine last night, the liquid level had dropped a couple of inches. Stored upright in cool dark place, no leaks. I knew this was going to happen. I think I will just let it go dry, fuck it.
