The Gories - Be Nice TMR-308

Post by dunedin »

The baddest garage band from Detroit city, The Gories, is embarking on a 20-date campaign through the wilds of Europe and to help celebrate those live shows Third Man is proud to announce the release of their first 7” of new material in over twenty years! “Be Nice” is originally by The Nomads, featured prominently on “Back from the Grave” volume 4 compilation and is completely reclaimed by the Gories to fit in their inimitable style. “On the Run” is the first original badass Collins/Kroha composition in forever and while appearing on a streaming-only compilation a few years back is seeing its first physical release here.

In hopes to get the continent worked up into a frenzy, the Gories will be selling the tricolor version of this single exclusively at their European merch table. We’ll leave it to the band to figure how to handle with the screaming hordes, just let it be known here that the black vinyl version will be available starting May 19th.

Listen to a clip from "Be Nice" here below, and if you haven't already picked up our previous Gories release, The Shaw Tapes Live in Detroit in 5/27/88, there's never been a better moment...

If that puppy is a limited edition variant, I need to know where and when to get in line for one. And how to get it autographed by Mick Collins.

Finally got around to ordering this one. "On the Run" is stellar when played at high volume. You can kinda hear every influence here. This was a cool release. More! More! More!
