eBay advertising

It had been suggested to me that we try to advertise our site through ebay auctions by mentioning the site somewhere in our auctions, I haven't sold anything on ebay in a while but was finally able to try this out with the auctions I just posted last night. I've already had people comment on it and say that they will be joining the site.

Sooo...

If you are selling something on eBay and wouldn't mind throwing in some sort of link to this site (either the homepage or the forum..) I would be very grateful. I've been working on expanding this site as much as I can and this is a simple way to get the word out there to our target audience.

Here's one of the auctions I put up:

[ebay]250763113057[/ebay]

Thanks!

Oops, thought this was a new spammer before I looked at who was posting.

Are you saying that my post doesn't make sense and my ebay auction is actually a porn site?

No, I just thought it was a new spammer based on the title of the thread until I looked at who posted the thread and thought I'd make a light hearted joke given all the recent spam on Groomsmen gifts, porn, and what-have-you.

Spam should be taken care of now I hope...

What's the point of promoting this forum? Will swirlers benefit from a bigger audience? Should a few flippers be invited too?

More people = more things for sale & more buyers for the sellers. Also means more disucssions to waste time on and hopefully more user input for the database.

Also, the collecting community is always evolving and as we lose people we'd like to gain new people..

Not that this is (or should be kept) a secret but my math (and maybe I'm in the minority) would suggest that more people = harder to get stuff = higher prices ...

I'm not saying this should be exclusive but advertising it on ebay would maybe attract people who might not be here for the proper reasons (like community & collecting) but maybe see this as an opportunity to get stuff first and profit from it.

I could be way off or maybe I'm the only one looking at it this way, I'm just saying I think if people like TMR or Jack enough to do a little looking around on the internet, it's pretty easy to find this place and to just post it on ebay (a site that is commonly used to flip collectible stuff) may send the wrong message...

Just my 2 cents...

Cool, wonder if it was one of my auctions that steered you here?
Glad to have you on board.
