Hi Swirlers,

I've spent the last year putting together a compilation album to benefit Active Minds, a charity that works toward improving emotional health and the prevention of suicide among college students. It is called One Hundred Thousand Voices and is out now digitally and on a limited amount of handmade CDs. Every artist, label, and publisher donated their time, energy, and song for free so every cent can go to the charity. Many of the artists are Burger Records alumni and some are Boston area acts. The album is called One Hundred Thousand Voices because that is how many voices we want to hear raised to end this stigma. There are fourteen voices on this album. Will you sing with us?

Tracklist
01. Like Ships in the Night - "If We Cut a Record"
02. The Aquadolls - "Don't Mean Jack"
03. The Lovely Bad Things - "Hear or Anywhere"
04. JD Debris - "Panic Attack" (Prod. Bodek)
05. Eddi Front - "Superhero Style"
06. Faces on Film - "The Rule"
07. Lady Lamb - "Shoulders"
08. Marissa Nadler - "Carnival"
09. The New Pollution - "San Francisco"
10. Death Valley Girls - "Get Home"
11. Dum Dum Girls - "Lost Boys & Girls Club"*
12. La Sera - "Love That's Gone (Katy's Demo)'
13. Lay Low Moon - "Thru & Thru"

*only available on CD version

I wanted to share some links with you too.

Ordered the CD. Great job, Michael! I love the name of the organization & of course the cause

The previous links for Michael and the Wild Roses seem to be broken. Can I update your listing with a new target URL?

Groovy tunes and great name! Post away. This thread is a catch all for anyone musically inclined, whether or not you are involved in a project that merits its own thread. All the best...

Uploading some of my stuff to YouTube so it's easier to share. For those who didn't catch it on Soundcloud or on my CD last year (and actually want to hear it), here's the title track. This tune was also used in a local horror anthology film called Volumes of Blood (http://www.volumesofblood.com/). My only regret is my neighbor busted me for noise the night we were gonna record the drums and I left the guide track in there. Maybe when I start piecing together the LP later this year I'll finally do the drums like I wanted. Anyway, check it out.

Well just noticed this and thought I share up some links - got so many things going it makes my head spin at any given time but let me try a quick breakdown.

My garage rock band The Hakks broke up a couple of months ago but there's tons of stuff on YouTube, we're working on a live compilation of recordings and there's some stuff up on the Bandcamp page as well https://thehakks.bandcamp.com/
Then there's this weird synth, horror, gialo, video game inspired line of eclectic electronic and psychedelic horror fusion stuff that I recorded over the past year or so in my spare time with a Yamaha practice keyboard a bucket of effects pedals, and then I was later given FL Studio and a new Ultranova Novation synthesizer which played a major role in the last album I released called Plissken Unlimited: Snake For President 2099 which is up on Bandcamp https://mr-sinister.bandcamp.com/
and because I'm schizophrenicly eclectic I also am working on an album of social advocation and political 'satire' which has apparently taken on the form of a rap album the demos of which are available at this Bandcamp link https://mr-sinister.bandcamp.com/album/amber-probe-ep

Little bit out of the norm for folks here but hey, maybe someone will dig it. Oh, and I should also mention while I guess it's not music I'm a drive-in film historian and z-movie lover who in his spare time writes, records, and releases commentary tracks for films that should have them, or have really bad tracks. It's kind of a strange thing I know but if you should wish to check that project out there are tracks for Jurassic Park, The Terminator (1984), Mad Max Fury Road, Point BReak (1991) and Tremors (1990) all available for streaming at this Bandcamp link https://jerkscomments.bandcamp.com/

I'm liking the Plissken Unlimited project in particular. All props for adding lyrics to the Amber Probe BC page. Excellent all. Would you like all of these projects added to the first post?

Update: Your Uncle Jerk's corner, holy crap. You don't sleep much. I like the way your brain works.

I prefer to sleep when I'm dead, and yeah I keep busy as all hell. Also write for It's Psychedelic Baby Magazine doing interviews and reviews, have published like 250+ in the last three years or so. Thank you so much for the compliments on Plissken Unlimited, really worked long and hard on that one and was super proud of how it turned out. I would love for you to add all of this stuff to the original post, trying to get the word out about stuff but spend too much time actually making it and not near enough time promoting it haha! I'll also post up links, working on a Halloween hip-hop album with stories about Jason, Freddie, Michael Meyers, Mad Max, and a host of other movie folks and links for that should be up in a week or two so I will get you those. I also am going to try and have another EP of stuff along the lines of Plissken Unlimited for Halloween so I will definitely get links up here when that's done. Thanks so much for checking out the stuff btw, that was the first piece of digital music I've ever sold!
Oh, and I forgot about my actual band. We were doing this weird psych kraut prog thing called The Dibs https://thedibs.bandcamp.com/ but we've changed our direction and name as of late, KAB Radio 1340 is the new name and we're working on recording some stuff for that project as well. Will make sure to pop back in with more links to inundate you further haha!
