William Elliott Whitmore

Post by gst510 »

Any love for my favorite artist from my home state of Iowa (slim pickings I know)?

I really think he would fit in great in the Third Man blue series.

I could see Jack playing drums on mutiny:

Caught WEW here in Indy last year. Small club, practically empty, I sat right in front of him. That cat's the real deal.

Saw him in Los Angeles a few years back and I was impressed. I'm really surprised he hasn't gotten more traction. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed that Third Man finds him :D

Archive.org has a bunch of live performances up you can legally download for free if you're interested:

Looks like he'll be at the Americana Music Festival in Nashville on September 18th, at Third Man Records. Could my dream of a WEW record on TM come true? I can always dream.

A WEW blue series would be VERY high on my TMR wish list.

No doubt. WEW is the only artist I'm a completest on (first pressings vinyl anyway). Hmmmm...perhaps I should post my ISO now! :D

I glad he's going to be there. He seems to be a good fit for TM, and definitely deserves the exposure.

Still one vinyl edition missing from my collection, probably some of the cd's he's been selling from the trunk of his car, and the book/cd collaboration set. Got to enjoy the chase. And I'll find them, sooner or later. :)

Crossing fingers for a TMR recording while he's in Nashville, and hoping for some vinyl to come out of it.

Yeah I'm actually missing the After The Gold Rush set. The 7" single artwork is for sale, but I believe it was ~$3,000 when I inquired, so I'm sure I'll never own that. I don't collect CDs, but I do have his "demo" set he sold early in his career. I got it off Ebay years ago and I've never seen another for sale. What albums are you missing? I may have an extra.

And hoping other swirlers find the time to listen to some of his albums.
