I found this article from Rolling Stone that is about the interview...a nice little summary of it and it is written by Andy Greene who I had the pleasure of meeting down at Farm Aid last month in NC. I was sitting next to him for a good 7 or 8 hours during the festival and noticed him taking a bunch of notes in a book and asked who he worked for...He looked about 25 and when he told me Rolling Stone I was pretty fascinated and began to talk to him for a bit. knowing he probably had some great stories. I really wish we had more time to talk. Now that I have looked more into him, he has had the chance to write a ton of great articles..

here is the one about the Howard Stern interview with Neil

Great interview, thanks for posting it up. Neil is the Man. I have been a fan as long as I can remember. He is an incredible musician and song writer.
Hope he keeps on Rockin the Free World for many more years. Can't wait to hear Him with an Orchestra !

So I ordered the new box set from Neil's site. Mine is numbered when it seems that the ones out for RSD weren't. Were the boxes for the Official Release Series Vol. 1 like that too?

Edit: The individuals carry the same number. Super cool. Now I have no excuse for not tracking down the first volume.

Don't think mine from RSD is number. What is your number??

You're only excuse for not tracking down volume 1 is its hard to find and insanely expensive. Haha

The only volume one on eBay just sold for $450 a few days ago. Unless any were added later. There was only one Volume One on Amazon and I bought it for $305 last night.
It's sealed and numbered, Volume one is numbered, volume two ordered from Neil is numbered but the RSD I have of volume two is not numbered. For fucks sakes. So should of just ordered from Neil but I did not realize this until yesterday.

I must add that you can hunt down each individual LP from volume one that is the same reissue, same record, same plates, etc. Probably cheaper but most places are out of stock on one or more. Says they are waiting on the next pressing.

They supposedly made 3500 sets of volume one and two. .... and volume one is hard to get but there are a ton of volume twos. So if RSD and Neil young sell them then does that mean there are 7000 volume two's ?

Basically I have a lot of questions and already know the answers.
Just like DMB. First year they sold a low number of volume one live colored, upped the numbers after that. Then you could order black from they're site, then etc, etcetera

The vinyl boom is a big headed monster ..... I'm just addicted to box sets I think :-)
Especially good sounding ones. Vinyl made in Germany sure does sound good ! Seems that companies are putting out a really nice product now like Neil Young's newest album. Germany pressed, thick vinyl, gatefold and artwork but up to $70 now.
Makes you appreciate the $20 URP albums sometimes !

RIP Tim Drummond.

He played bass on a bunch of Neil's solo albums as well as some CSNY albums. He also played with a ton of other great artists like Dylan and Clapton. The list goes on really..

Grew up near where Tim was born and raised...bit of a local legend/hero. My best friend's dad (another local legend in his own right) played with Tim during his stint with James Brown and always spoke highly of him.

Just a week after Neil and CSNY lose Tim, Dallas Taylor, one of the drummers for CSNY Has passed away. A rough week for that group.

I hope it brings them together and the recent feud between Neil and David is cleaned up. I would love for them to spend some time together and do a few shows.
