Tried out my first Thee Oh Sees 7" the other day (the new bruise cruise split) wasn't impressed at all. Should I move on, or is there a different record I should try?

what song is on that? i was thinking the other day that their 7"s are kinda willy nilly weakish that they put the real work into the LP's. (the only single by them that i dig as much as the LPs is Tidal Wave)

Also thinking back Thee Oh Sees for me had a longer learning curve than most bands. i liked only a song or two at first bought tickets to a show because i heard their live show was something & they didn't dissapoint, made the records come to life for me. seeing them live was like dropping acid for the first time.

Me likey! Also seeing them w/Ty in Brooklyn in Sept....

Um, anyone else notice they're playing Nashville with Ty on 9/20? Think they/Ty could hit TMR while there? A la King Tuff? The mind boggles....

Had the best Pickathon ever, including Thee Oh Sees in a barn and The Lost Bayou Boys with Gordan Gano doing a bunch of Vilent Femmes.
More here: http://oregonmusicnews.com/tag/thee-oh-sees/
Come on out next year.
I got that deep into variants once before with a collection, please shoot me if I go there again, it will drive you crazy I promise...
But nice stuff for sure.

Hopefully it isn't like the show they played in Nashville recently with Ty. They didn't start playing until maybe 4am.

Why so late? When did Ty start and how long did each band play?

Not sure. I didn't make it into the show. I was expecting to get tickets at the door but it was sold out. I think Ty ended up playing around 6am.
It was mentioned some in this thread... http://www.whiteswirl.com/forum/viewtop ... &start=135
