Re: Alabama Shakes
it’s different for sure. i don’t know that i love it, but i’d bet that a lot of this record will be closer in sound to their debut.woodisgood wrote:The new song? PU.

Re: Alabama Shakes
Well, for American pre-orders they were explicitly mentioning that there was a 180 gram and the clear version would be "standard weight", implying they wouldn't be 180 gram.arewhyehen wrote:Pressed at a different plant in the UK?chaptertwentyone wrote:I'm... confused.
So, does that mean foreign pressings will have a 180 gram clear?

I went from super excited to terribly disappointed in a matter of minutes after hearing this song. Oof.

Re: Alabama Shakes
Waaaay too much reverb; sounds like the Bee Gees gone Memphis; and it's a weak tune. The debut sounded underproduced—I'm betting this one is going to sound overproduced . . .mangry wrote:I went from super excited to terribly disappointed in a matter of minutes after hearing this song. Oof.

Re: Alabama Shakes
Which of the two new songs is everyone talking about?
Don't Wanna Fight
OR
Future People
For the record, I like 'em both.

That Future People video won't play here in the US, apparently.
I don't dislike Don't Wanna Fight. There are definitely things about it that I do like, such as Brittany's voice. But, at the same time, there was nothing in it that kept me from flipping over to another browser tab and reading the news headlines. Gonna have to give it another try, see if it grabs me with a couple more listens.

Re: Alabama Shakes
I'm a few songs into the first spin of this new album and I'm really liking it! As the 4th song starts I'm really liking it! I'm right in that perfect mindset of a couple of beers and new album by a band I really like, that makes it a fantastic first listen.
I play dumb like Columbo, and get my feelings hurt and move to New York like I'm Dumbo
