I was THERE when Captain Beefheart started up his first band.
I told him, "Don't do it that way. You'll never make a dime."
<JackWhite> Hamptonio: yes, and tell the lovely wife that i really love the pot pie recipe. i can't get enough LOL! anyway, let me know when you get that package of test pressings i sent you.

I WAS THERE...wait...no I wasn't...

I'm the dud who didn't even realise lcd were doing a tour in my neck of the woods and totally missed their show. Then they came back a year later for a festival and I banked on some sideshows...of which there were none, it was one of their last performances.

VERY stupid of me but James Murphy is coming soon which helps.

Not exactly sure where to put this.
It's a new song for Converse sponsored song collaboration by Gorillaz/James Murphy (of LCD Soundsystem)/Andre 3000 (of Outkast).
There is a 13 minute long version of the song

as well as a 4-minute version that is a free download on the Converse website.

To ago along with the track, Gorillaz co-creator Jamie Hewlett designed some chuck taylor for Converse.
And there will be an animated video to go along with song that's coming out this Wednesday (29th).

Edit: This isn't the first time they've done this 3 Artists 1 Song. They had one in 2010 with Bethany Cosentino of Best Coast, Rostam Batmanglij of Vampire Weekend and Kid Cudi. And another in 2008 with Julian Casablancas, Santigold and Pharrell Williams. Another from 2011 has Andrew W.K., Soulja Boy and Matt & Kim.

I found the 13-minute version much more interesting. Also the white and black chucks design look kinda cool.

Come on folks, no news on this thread since 2012? There's been a new tour, an album on the way, exclusive Christmas singles, and just today, a brand new radio single, two tracks folks!
