Loretta Lynn

Post by Kali Durga »

I couldn't find a Loretta Lynn thread, so here we go. Loretta's being featured on PBS's American Masters on March 4th, which is the same day her new album will be released-- http://www.people.com/article/loretta-l ... tary-album And, of course, Jack's one of the folks interviewed.

Unless you're at Sundance this week. But how are the two things related?

Both are from PBS, both have the word "American" in the title, and both feature Jack. If they push back the release date of this too it'll be an inside the park homerun.

I had to put down my orange juice so I wouldn't spew it all over the place as I laughed. Bravo!

I love loretta lynn music

I was a bit surprised to learn this week that she was a donald trump supporter,, oh well. I know it shouldn't be that way, but now when I listen to her songs I think about that. I would much rather never find out musicians personal / political opinions, in case I have strong opinions

her music =

Yeah, I saw that, too. I choose to believe that maybe Loretta lives in blissful ignorance of current events. But definitely agree with you on this--

Bless you, PBS. I actually had to opportunity to watch last night, but it wasn't on any of the PBS stations where my family lives in Florida. So much for tv...

Heard an interview with Loretta on NPR yesterday along with a few clips, good stuff! May order the LP soon.

Just watched the doc and then listened to that ^^ (thank you for the link). I think that Loretta's picture needs to be added to the dictionary next to the word "stoic". The Stoic philosophy (which Willie Nelson quotes in the doc when he mentions Seneca) wasn't just about keeping a stiff upper lip. It was about meeting life's challenges with equanimity. That's Loretta.
