2 dollars I will send more if you dig some old flatstock posters out of your garage.

I was showing my posters in the daylight the other day, and noticed a layer of printed figures in what always appeared to be the black area behind the band name. It reminded me of the technique someone recently noticed on the Racs 2009 Glasgow. I'll try to capture it on film. Anyone else notice it, or recognize the image? Unless I've overlooked something in this thread, we have still to identify any of the imagery in this poster.

Good observation there Ara! I had no idea and I haven't seen this one in person.

Now what the hell is it? Kind of looks like people or something?

Just a guess

Image

*edit- I'm pretty sure that is the image, but I could be wrong. If we could get another shot of two of the layer of underprint, that would help.

The underprinting was hard to get a good photo of and that was the best I could do. To the naked eye, the figure is wearing a long coat that is fastened all the way down. There is a belt around the midsection. At first glance, I thought of a constables dress dating to the approximate period of the primary female figure. Someone mentioned her dress appeared to be from the Victorian era. I wasn't sure if it was early 20th c. or antebellum. Dating the architecture might help tie everything together. Would help to have an architect on the board!
