I received two second pressings two days ago that I did not order. Not sure what the deal is but I definitely did not order them. I did order two first pressings so somehow they got mixed up and sent a couple of more out. I am going to contact them to pay for the two copies they sent out by mistake.

oi....anyone else have an extra 1st pressing? guess i should've posted here than in the lr. is there anywhere else aside from ebay to still get a 1st press?

btw, i love the fact that third man follows the pressing 7"s with the big hole in the middle instead of the more modern version of 45's. has a nice feel to it, plus makes it easier to hold.

makes me wonder if this'll always be in pressing. I reckon the demand will eventually decrease to the point where they won't continue repressing.

so let me get this straight, first and 2nd pressing were made from the same master plates so technically it's the same pressing just released with different covers. and the 3rd press will be a whole new pressing altogether?

Somehow, I would be surprised if the second press is sold out already. Maybe this has something to do with the mysterious 2nd presses turning up at people's doors? Interesting though..

The large hole in the centre is a US innovation from the war of the speeds in the late 1940s. Probably most US 45s that I get have the large centre hole regardless of when they were made.

45s from outside America almost all have the small centre hole and imported US ones were often fitted with an adaptor - see here
