I'm just curious, where do you people get your money. Please shine the light on me, I would seriously consider leaving my job to join you in your business. I've seen several vinyls (some being a small bulk) sell for around if not over $1,000. I guess this refers to WS collectors as well.

I run a small mobile meth-lab out of the trunk of my 84 Plymouth Reliant.

Amazing Luke; that worked for me as well. Best advice my parents ever gave me;

The harder you work the luckier you get.

When I'm not chasing vinyl, I'm a male escort for the rich and famous female movie stars....

Damn I woke up from my dream... I'm like Luke and Flattop. Highly educated and 60 hours a week of corporate America... Three college engineering degrees and working on a PhD at the moment. I've been in the IT field for 20+ years and am currently the Director or IT Architecture and Strategy for a fortune 100 company. If that didn't make any sense, just think uber computer geek / upper management working for the man....

Oh yeah, and resident show off...

Credit cards. Buy low, trade high. I don't have nearly the collection others have in terms of vinyl as I dabble in other things like posters for shows I attend, preferably S/N from the artist.

I try to work a good 50-60 hour a week at a pizza place (still near minimum wage as a manager) and if i get all of my expences out of the way, i put my pennies together and try to get something really good. the most i've spent so far on one was $500. to me thats alot, but i'm still no pro.

I was working in a pizza joint in 1987, made $2.10 an hour. I had been searching for three years to find one and finally found and bought a Spiders - Don't blow your mind/No Price Tag 45 for $500. My want ads in Goldmine paid off. That was like a half years salary back then. I've still got it and it's the prize of my entire vinyl collection. I'd sell my HP LB before I sold it.
I've also got vinyl I bought back then for $.25 at the local grocery store that sold 45s that while worth little will never leave my hands, I love the stuff because every time I play it, it makes me young again and brings back the 70's. Yeah to some of us that is cool...

The moral to this story is one or all of the following:
That what you buy now might be worth a small fortune later down the road or nothing but as long as you love it who gives a #&$*.
Pizza makers love vinyl.
We all made minimum wage at some point in our lives, for the most part.
Be proud of what you buy, it's value is only in how much you love it.
The 70's ruled and vinyl was king.

I have a bike I bought for 50 dollars when I was in Grade 6... Took me all summer of mowing lawns to get it. Best fucking thing I ever bought. I still have the bike.
