Re: Single: Die by the Drop
Got my single in the mail today.
FUCKING SWEET.
Old Mary Lyrics:
Old Mary, full of grace, your heart stops within you.
Scary are the fruits of your tomb and harsh are the terms of your sentence.
Old Mary, sister of mine, mother to the world,
carry this burden now till the moment of your last breath.
Truly an excitingly frightening track.
Dear DW, moar plz.

Re: Single: Die by the Drop
Got my single earlier today too! No tri's for me as of yet...not-ah one!
Kind of a silly q but does anyone know who does the etchings/how it's done? (since the writing is napoleon dynamite sweet I'm guessing there's no machinery involved) I get so excited to see what each new single says...
Also, first time I've gotten a single in the mail that has a severely bent corner I hope the vinyl hasn't somehow been microscopically bent too, I can't really tell by holding it up so I guess I'll just deal.

I've asked at TMR where they get the run out grooves from and they said that sometimes they are inside jokes and sometimes they are just random.

Oooh that's awesome haha and sometimes they just rhyme with the title of the single i've noticed, thanks I love knowing about the little things. I read earlier according to WikiAnswers, regarding vinyl etching, that "These are scribed or stamped by the mastering engineer as directed by the record label or the band." But at TM who knows if it's that literal of an assigning.

Re: Single: Die by the Drop
just been checking around ebay and other sites don't see any tri's for sale so not many people have got them yet.
so maybe they have gone to fans and not flippers or maybe a few have been sent abroad (hope so lol)...

Thanks for this! So gratifying to read that it's one of the highlights of his job cuz I've thought about how the little things like that, that require such attention to detail must be one of the perks/highlights, and I was wondering if this thought was true, and turns out it is! Very cool. Also like how he calls Jack's sense of humor "stringently hilarious" ...good way to describe him.dylnfan wrote:BB answered my question about this one...orangeshoeskid wrote:I've asked at TMR where they get the run out grooves from and they said that sometimes they are inside jokes and sometimes they are just random.
