Best version of Blue Veins?

Post by Thinkfirst »

Hey guys, i was wondering what you guys think is the best version of Blue Veins?

My choices are Montreux (the dvd one), god i wish they'd release that on vinyl and Bonnaroo 2008 probably.

Ah, a subject near and dear to my heart. So many terrific performances of this song, I've had this debate a few times. My favorite, though, will always be the Hove Fest. It contains the most dynamic 60 seconds of silence I've ever experienced. Dunno what it was like from the crowd, but the the crew filming captured it wonderfully.

"And the message is clear: if we want Jack White as our hero, he will entertain, but not pander. We have to accept all his flaws, whims, caprices and manias as a critical, sometimes uncomfortable, part of the contract."

Every one i saw live. The main LP version was one of my least favorite Racs songs.

Yeah that silence on the Hove one is golden, remember getting the chills when i first saw it.
I really think that blue veins can make or brake a whole Rac's performance.
I remember doubting every second of the month whether or not to get that Ryman Vault pack, but eventually decided to not get it (being short on money).
Afterwards i heard Blue Veins from that show and I remember not liking it that much, so that was a great relief actually.

That's probably my third favorite. My second favorite is from a show I could have gone to, if I'd only known then what I know now-- May 28th, 2008 at the 9:30 Club here in DC. NPR broadcast it and I've listened to it. Holy moley, it's intense.

The concert at the festival in Michigan - MI Fest .... They threw down on Blue veins. I'm with Ara on this one all the live versions I have seen were great.

Oooooh yeah. The ending, especially, when he sang "They don't mean nothin'"

I love all live versions of Blue veins and Bang Bang

Which was the one they showed on It Might Get Loud where his fingers were bleeding?
