Don't make me get up on my soapbox, but seriously a good few months or so before they came out I suggested the White Stripes merch the Stylophones on my
blog http://phonofun.blogspot.com/search?q=stylophone and on the littleroom forum... Then low and behold the Raconteurs use one on their next album and then release one as official merchandise...

I agree with what Sean said on the LR, the winning entry was just good editing. In fact, 3 of the 4 winners all used editing. I really don't think it's fair.

It'd be like me entering a guitar playing competition, recording myself playing one note at a time then editting a blinding solo together.

That would be totally cool!!!!! I like videos like that.

(Plus it would be the only way I could ever play guitar.

I really like the winning video. I see nothing wrong with taking video segments and splicing them together to make a whole. They played all instruments/vocals of the song, whereas most just played the guitar riff to the actual song playing in the background.

Could the Stylophone be the Rac's equivalent to the Stripes' Incophone?

Well, other than the Stylo being an instrument, and the Inco a pocket-sized record player. Though, the only pockets fit for that would be Goliath's.

I just realized that the photo on this thread includes two instructional pamphlets for playing Rac songs on your Stylophone. I bought my Stylo at the Rac's Austin City Limits show in '08 but it didn't come with those song sheets. Anyone else have this happen to them? Anyone willing to scan those images for me? Thanks in advance.
