Iron-on Transfer

Over the past year or so, I have come into possession of a few Raconteurs iron-on transfers that are included in online orders of $40 or more. I was curious if anyone has gotten around to putting them on a shirt. And if so, how did it turn out? Any tips on the best way to apply it? Obviously, I shouldn't just iron them on at home (as stated in the directions that accompany the iron-on).
