taking a picture with a phone or app will never make it the same thing. whether you shoot film or digital i think it's best to learn on film. i learned on a digital camera and when i took an analog class i realized how little i knew about photography. apertures and iso's were a foreign language to me.

I enjoy shooting film, particularly polaroid at the moment, because i love the surprise i get from not knowing what i will get. there is no ability to re do so you dont just pull the trigger for anything, you make it worth it. i get the best results because i know every time i snap i like to think the moment was worthwhile and it usually is.

Heres a bunch of polaroids i shot recently. i got this really amazing film from the impossible project space in soho, its brand new color protection formula but its the one with the crazy colorful frames. I knew it was made for an australian company called pigeonhole and after research it would cost like 50$ a pack to get some shipped to NY, to my surprise they had a limited quantity in NYC at the impossible space and i got a few before they all sold out.

Hey I just got an 8mm movie for an 8mm projector I have and I realized I had no idea how to actually put the film on the projector. How do I do it?

They were at Urban Outfitters I think it was....I wandered in there with my girlfriend. There are so many of those "Ubran ________" stores that I dont know which one is which but it was the cooler one that sells records and stuff..
Think I might go back when I'm not with her and get a few of those

I sometimes break out my Pentax K-1000 and run around town. I scan the negatives myself, thus the imperfections:

Here's the coolest place in town (the Creme):

Here's a parking garage:
