Movies I must watch this summer...

Post by Grimtale »

So in the summer time when the kids are out of school my wife has dinner waiting on me when I come home. We all sit in the den and watch a movie each evening while eating.
Kids are all teenagers so about any rating movie works.

Let's make a list of movies that I should make sure and see this summer. I usually get movies from redbox and netflix.

all zombies, all the time:

the romero classic trilogy - night of the living dead, dawn of the day, day of the dead. recommend avoiding the second three, land of the dead, diary of the dead, survival of the dead. also -

- shaun of the dead
- fido
- 28 days later (technically not zeds, but anyway)
- 28 weeks later
- the dawn of the dead remake from 2004
- dead set (if you can track it down, a british made tv series based on the big brother reality show. brilliant)
- [rec] (the original spanish version, not it's american remake)
- braindead
- return of the living dead
- zombieland (if only for the surprise cameo...)

and a great concert flick that no one's ever heard of, urgh! a music war. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0138902/

I'm very disappointed that there is one glaring omission to your best of Zombie Movies.

Two words - Nazi Zombies
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1278340/
Dead Snow - A Norwegian Zombie movie that takes place mostly during the day in snow. The snow is a nice contrast to the normal dark tone zombie movies take on. This movie is a must see for any Zombie buff or casual movie fan.

dead snow was pretty good. but, in spite of my recommendation for return of the living dead, i don't care for zombies that can think.

Movie NOT to watch while eating = Human Centipede, most disturbing film I have seen in years, maybe ever. Part 2 just got refused a certificate by British film board first film in over 20 years I believe.
Don't believe the 60's was the golden age of pop. You glorify the past when the future dries up.

Yeah, just watching the trailer and hearing the plot were enough to keep me away.
