Pearl Jam ROCKS. They're definitely in my top three bands of all time. I love them, and their live shows are some of the best out there. The biggest regret of my concert-going career is waiting too long to get tickets for their Halloween '09 show at the Spectrum in Philadelphia, which turned out to be their longest show ever! (ALMOST 4 HOURS!!!!) Anyways, I'm starting to collect their recent live bootlegs, and I have not been disappointed. I love the energy that they have in their live shows. Anyone been to a show care to share the awesomeness?

Anybody know what the deal with all of the white vinyl Backspacer LPs is about?
I got that deep into variants once before with a collection, please shoot me if I go there again, it will drive you crazy I promise...
But nice stuff for sure.

Yes...what a clusterfuck. Here's general information - http://www.pjcollectors.com/detail.asp?id=1750 Initially they were used as promo items when the album came out. The band gave them to friends, radio stations to have contests, etc. Recently PJ put the remainder of what they had on their website for Fan Club members to buy. Usually they set up their store to limit members to 1 each of unique or rare items, but with this one they didn't so people took advantage of it and ordered lots of copies. Story goes that some of the people that ordered multiples had their orders canceled while others didn't. I am hearing all this 2nd, 3rd person. All I know is, a bunch are now on eBay. In the past copies have gone in the $1000 range when the first showed, not sure what the market is now with the flood of them. Wish I had one, not gonna pay $250 for one.

They went for $2,000. I sold one for $1,200. $200 would be a good price.

I was at that Halloween show...it was pretty phenomenal. I ended up making a DVD of the show from asking 60+ people for their footage. It's pretty bad ass. Some of the shittier songs don't have the best angles but the awesome rare ones look pretty amazing with everyone's footage. here's a clip from the DVD if you're interested:

I managed to get a white Backspacer...I still wouldn't pay more than $40 for it.I think the market will shortly be flooded. just wait it out and you'll get one for cheap. seriously, like under $100.

Average Springsteen show is right under 3 hours.

If anyone wants to see it, PJ20 will be airing on PBS this evening. It's a pretty great retrospect of the bands first 5 years...the last 9 years were just glossed over as was the drummer situation...it's definitely worth a watch though, lots of great old footage and great storytelling about the start of the Seattle scene.

Up here it's airing at 9pm...check it out.

I'd like all the PJ haters to take a close look at this still from the bonus features on the PJ20 Documentary. That's Mike McCready the lead guitarist for those who don't know.

Amazon.com/ca have the 3-LP Pearl Jam PJ20 soundtrack on sale for 45% of right now. I think the American amazon has it for like $44. I got it from the Canadian Amazon for $50 with taxes in.
