BEWARE charliecamillablenheims aka Benjamin Clarkson

Post by Bikedo »

Yes indeed for the first time in almost 13 years I've been scammed on the Bay.
It was a set of TWS Lyric Pins
Seller's Ebay ID is charliecamillablenheims but some of you might be more familiar with his real name
Benjamin Clarkson, the same guy that brought us the Hand Sprayed Lafayette Blues, the fake TWS Clock and fake French Franc note etc.
He has had numerous other ID's I forgot about.
Had no idea it was him until I had paid already.
Image
Set arrived and they were fake.
I contacted him and he said he just bought another complete set for about £300 which he was more than willing to ship to me for free to avoid bad feedback and to keep me happy {I paid £84 for the first set)
I played ignorant cause I knew I had to try and get my money back at one point.
2nd set arrived and guess what.... fake again.
Said he found another collector who was willing to sell him a genuine set for over £400 and if I would "chip in" to make up for part if the money he had "invested" in these (over £700 plus the money for the first set) so he could pull the trigger on this 3rd set.
Now I'm a pretty successful hunter for goodies but finding 3 sets?
I had been looking for a genuine set since '05, want that guys Rolodex.
Any who, at this point I said I wasn't going to pay more than I had initially paid and told him I wanted a refund.
He was like Ok no problem, I'll just buy the 3rd set, send it to you and except my loss.
3rd set arrived and guess what? Fake.
Then I went the official way and started a claim through Ebay.
Got 50% back and the rest after I had shipped back thec30 fake Lyric Pins.
He asked what I would do with the pins and I told him they're useless and the should be thrown away to avoid "spoiling" the market.

Bottom line is I want to warn y'all he's still active as a seller (also selling genuine TMR/TWS stuff) but can't stop faking rare TWS collectables.
And those 3 fake sets are probably still out there.
If ever you get offered a set if Lyric Pins ask Kaber, maxman142001 or me to help determine their authenticity.
I'd like to sleep 100 days, my feeling has gone, flesh cold and numb.

Damn, Clarkson's still at it. That guy just won't learn. Can't believe he manages to get away w/this shit.

Damn that sucks. We were talking in one of the Facebook groups about these. Warning people not to buy because they seemed fake. What a dirtbag.

I even messaged the guy before he sold it, telling him it was fake and he should take it down.

hahaha its pretty funny how he sent you three identical fakes in a row, did he think that you would suddenly accept one as real? meanwhile he was spending money on shipping

what a weird dude, I always wonder about those scammers and what they are like in real life

All 3 sets were different, too small, too big and the 3rd set had the right size but was recognizable
as a fake on 4 other characteristics.
You'd think its a simple pin but it proves to be hard to fake...... just like all his other poor attempts in the past.
Must be betting on the collectors who are just not as knowledgeable.

So guys there are quite a few collectors here who, combined, have a lot of knowledge about TWS/TMR collectables.
Don't hesitate to contact us.
You can off course try Ben and see if he's willing to verify items.

Here's a pic of the first two sets.
Bottom one is the set that was listed on the Bay [too small]
Top ones are the second set [too big]

Apparently he sold a fake set to someone else [through FB?]
Guy was alarmed by my post here [go Swirl!] and managed to get a refund
Hope he cares to share his story here.

That handwriting may win the award for "Most Absolutely Not In A Million Years Jack White's Handwriting, For The Love Of God Please Believe Me" at the 2016 No Fucking Duh Awards!

It says that the guy he bought it from wrote it and then Jack signed it. Because it's easy to forge a "III"!
