Record Store Day (RSD) 2015

Post by chaptertwentyone »

I know, I know, I know.
My stomach hasn't settled yet from November either, but it's back!
I had a look at the releases thus far, and thought maybe some of you would like to see them as well.
There is still plenty of time, and many records to be added, but let's get the discussion going now!

As of this very moment, the only release I can see myself buying would be the green The Darjeeling Limited soundtrack.

Well now I want MONDO to release a Walking Dead LE OST! - Decent cross section tho it's hard to score much of anything non-TMR related when you're queued up on 7th Ave. most of the day.

Black Keys, Fall out Boy, Empire of the Sun and a few others are must gets for me. Thinking this will probably be a skip year at tmr, can't see them having anything on par with last year since Jack will be out of town.

Courtney Barnett and the Those Darlins/Diarrhea Planet split are the ones I really want. I'd pick up Darjeeling if I saw it.

I already have that Neko Case album on blue vinyl. While it's one of my favorites I'm not that much of a completist.

That black gospel collection could be really cool.

Might be the first RSD I have missed in a few years. My only hope is that TMR will have GBMS because nothing on the RSD list grabs my attention.

Glad there isn't too much good stuff on here. I'll try and pick up all the TMR stuff I can and if DFA put out anything I'll keep an eye out for that too.

The only better fitting person I could think of for this year is Neil Young, with all that he has been doing in music this past year with the Pono Player and just trying to get the best quality music possible to fans..

I am a bit biased though..

I don't think someone that is helping to improve digital sales is quiet who they want as the spokesman for improving physical sales.....imo.

Shirley Manson would be a nice choice. She's always been a proponent of vinyl and Garbage regularly participates in RSD.

Yeah, but he is more trying to improve the quality of music that gets to listeners, while still trying to keep the same portability of an MP3 player.

Neil is still very much in support of vinyl as a superior format.

I see where you are coming from though.
