The show at Third Man was exactly 4 years ago. Man, what started as just a fun night out going to a show that my wife wanted to go to (she bought the tickets, not me) turned out to be a life changer. Not only was it my first show in the blue room, but it was also my first time seeing Jack live, my first tri-color record [Dungen, which I won by guessing what Swank was thinking of (fried chicken,)] my first time in the photo booth, and my first Third Man experience to share with my wife. 4 years, 20 blue room shows, and 4 record store days later, my love affair with Third Man is starting to slow down, but I truly hold this show and experience dearly. It's funny how I've acquired quite a bit of Third Man vinyl and goodies and been to a lot of shows there (less than a lot of you, but more than enough to be more than satisfied,) but only a few really mean something to me. This night was one of them.

I'm coming up on my five year anniversary as a fan of Jack's music and have been thinking back on my first shows, one of which was a Blue Room show. And four years ago, I saw Wanda and Jack play in Brooklyn just a few days after the show at TMR. Very cool to see someone else going through similar fond memories about special moments related to Jack and Third Man. Swirl can so often be a cynical place, it's nice to read things like this.
