i'm confused about the food thing at the party. i didn't go but i did look into the costs a little when i heard about it and i've heard some stories on the side...so, jacks bbq only gave a quote for two days and so you had to cancel that deal. that makes perfect sense and it sucks but shit happens. presumably you would have the funds that were to pay for that to buy the new food. So a $2000 bill plus gratuity so you probably had budgeted $2200-$2400. but from what i hear, one day there were some costco veggie trays (even a lot of them would be no more than $250) and the other two nights there were like 50 pizzas each night. So 100 pizzas at a high price of even $10 per pizza (if you had to pay $10 per when buying that many you got ripped off though) so that's only about $1250. what happened to the other $1000 that was budgeted for food?

I certainly have no clue....then again read the posts....she walks on water

I just wanted to post this here for now, and will probably start a new thread eventually for next year. Next year's gathering will be over Halloween of 2011, on the 29th, 30th, and 31st of October. It will be much cooler in Nashville that time of year and fun for those who wish to wear costume. This falls over a Saturday, Sunday, and Monday again, but there will be no live bands on Monday, just fun activities and a day to visit and run around together. I may rent a place where we can have catering for that evening only and a place to get together for food and drinks with a DJ.

Anyway, I just wanted to get the word out so people will have a date to plan for, especially if you are traveling from far away!

Halloween is big at our house. With two boys who are all in, and an annual party to uphold, an out-of-town trip isn't in the cards. But I'll be living vicariously through everyone else!
