Karen Elson Record Release Show 4/4/17

Post by shaneoftheroad »

Anyone else going? It's next week, the 4th, in the Blue Room. Tickets are strangely still available. I know the album wasn't produced by Jack and it's not a Third Man release but it's still Karen Elson in the Blue Room. I'm looking forward to it, I haven't seen her there yet.

Karen posted on Twitter and Instagram that she will be doing a M&G and signing. Wish I could go.

Last night was incredible. Karen Elson is honest and soulful when she performs. That was my first time seeing her live and I was beyond impressed. Incredibly talented. And she's so damn likable!

She played a mix of old and new songs, mostly new. My favorite of the new songs she performed was "Hell and High Water." Great energy on that one. And she had some special guests, including Dhani Harrison (Beatle George's son) and Pat Sansone from Wilco. Just a wonderful night all around. Afterward she came out and met with those of us who stuck around. She signed some things and said her thank you's. She struck me as gracious, fun and clever.

Glad I could make it last night. I won't forget it.

Took some Polaroids after the show. She wanted me to take a picture of her drinking her tequila. haha She's awesome.

She signed the back of the Polaroid :)

The poster from last night (already signed when I bought it from the merch table)

They had copies of her new album for sale and they also had a handful of peach-scented Ghost Who Walks. I'll be spinning her new album later today. Looking forward to it.

It was cool seeing those of you who came up to say hi! Very, very cool night.

Always great seeing you, sir. Wish we could've hung out more. I'm sure I'll be back in town soon enough.

I think I saw you in the crowd. :D Great pics. It was an awesome show, I was really impressed with how good she is live. (I didn't catch the saxophone player's name, but he was amazing.) She was a really sweet person when I got my record signed. I was lucky to get a pre-signed poster, too.

By the end of his solo it felt like we'd just been through a religious experience.

Out of interest, are the peach-scented records still peach-scented? I'd have thought it would have evaporated by now. Still look beautiful though.
