Plus they can sell their test presses with the TMR labels and recoup the cost of their actual pressing run.

Jeeze, people are ON IT today with replies. haha Fastest I have ever seen. You'd think there was a big event or announcement coming up..

But yeah, people seem to follow most anything TMR has any part in, so that's great for all these indie bands pressing there. Great exposure! I can't think of many (if any) other labels or pressing plants that have the same affect..
A GOOD POINT DESERVES A TIMELY RESPONSE DAMNIT!
Yeah, good on them for helping out the little guy.
We'll see what road this takes is down.
I think Jamie makes a good point on the next page.

Haha well thank you. I agree, the comment from Jamie about the TMR test pressings for the bands will help raise cash as well.

Cool to see more stuff coming, but some of the items on opening day of the plant were not TMR releases. Both of the 7"s were from other labels.

Also, in theory TMRP TPs sound like they could be instant money makers...but heck a lot of the recent TMR TPs are only selling for $50 unless they are good bands. That price point is pretty par for the course on what bands in general sell TPs for these days on kickstarters or pre-sale bundles.

FOLLOW UP:
Hi all. In case there was any interest, my band Atmig just became the first non Third Man associated artist to press with Third Man Pressing, the first to go through their new customer process. We will be releasing our 7" single on Record Store Day, copies can be pre-ordered at http://www.atmig.com or found in various record stores around the Detroit, Ann Arbor, and Traverse City areas.

Our labels read: Manufactured by Third Man Pressing, Detroit, MI.

So this pin was available at the opening and went unnoticed?
Or I am the only one who missed seeing a mention about it

I was there and didn't see it....but pins and stuff weren't displayed the best for a cram packed room.

I asked about specific items and was told nothing exclusive was available in terms of pins or buttons. Also, no completed auctions on eBay for this pin so until today it didn't exist.

TMP is going to be featured in next week's issue of Popular Mechanics. And apparently there's an event to celebrate? http://www.crainsdetroit.com/article/20 ... nt-in-made

Maybe in the process of planning and Crains Detroit posted about it before they were ready to announce?
