Looks like we'll be in for a real treat via Third Man Books and Ben Blackwell this spring.

Oh wow, that should be damned interesting. Where'd you find those photos? I'm not seeing them at tmb.com.

They were on a promotional extra thrown in with the recent novelties book variant for sale, similar to the ones thrown in advertising the vault.

Cool. I wish the TMB website was updated more frequently, info like that should be up there. Somebody needs to give Chet a hand with that!

Which Instagram? I thought I was following all of TMR's Instagram pages, but I don't see anything about this.

Those headshots recently sold at SXSW could've been a good bit of promotional material if they would've included something about the book on them seeing as how this is Ben's project.

Hah! Good catch. Maybe that's his bio shot for the inside back sleeve.

There is an Amazon pre-order, price is $60

"As the brain child of Jack White, The Blue Series started in tandem with Third Man Records in 2009. The series of 7-inch singles were recorded in the same studio, with the same producer (White), and photos taken in the same locale (TMR’s Blue Room). Whether Beck, Tom Jones, Stephen Colbert, the polarizing Insane Clown Posse, or the debut of previously unknown performers, The Blue Series epitomizes TMR/Jack White. With written contributions from David Fricke and every Blue Series recording artist, this is a behind-the-scenes documentation of the creative process behind a unique collection of song. And ALL the music will be included" (emphasis mine).

Will be interesting to see how the Mildred section is written up.

Oh good, I can talk about this now.

I got to see the rough copy of this book on my tour. It was a stack of papers at that point but they showed me some of the contents. The photos are beautiful and crisp, I can't wait to have the finished copy. There are tons of detailed credits for every release and there also tons of interviews. Ben was telling me about doing the interviews and I actually asked about Mildred. He said he interviewed her. I asked if she was in character and he said he didn't know because it was over email. But I'm gonna proceed as though she's in character. :)

He said he interviewed Colbert as well, who was NOT in character. haha

When we first walked into the Third Man Books office there was an employee in there holding the stack of papers that would become the book and he seemed horrified to see me standing there. But Ben assured him I was cool and had them show it to me. We spent quite a bit of time in there discussing the process of putting the book together.

Gonna be cool.
