My son is an awesome 9 year old drummer so he helps out with the "Meg" parts. I hope to waste every last second of my "free" time here..So, yeah. Hi!

Welcome aboard we have "2crazikids" of our own on the board at the moment, wont take you long to figure out who and ignore their endless meaningless posts. Rest of us freaks arent too bad.
Don't believe the 60's was the golden age of pop. You glorify the past when the future dries up.

Hello all!
I'm guilty of making 30 posts before introducing myself, so it's about time I said a proper hello!
My name's Veronica. My two biggest regrets in life are, first, being too shy to meet and speak with Lou Reed once at a particularly quiet signing for his book of photography in Hells Kitchen, and second, not ever going to a White Stripes show while they were still together. I sit in dark rooms and weep. "Why, WHY didn't I meet Lou Reed?? WHY didn't I go to a White Stripes show when I had the CHANCE?!" etc.
But anyway, decided to buy a record player for myself after watching 'It Might Get Loud'. Count me hooked. Lovin' White Swirl so far.

Hi all -- nice to meet you! I'm cmelo, and I just joined yesterday with a couple posts re: Chattanooga show (can't go -- colossal bummer). Following Veronica's lead, I figured I should also introduce myself officially here. (V, I'm in a different dark room, weeping because I didn't shake Bill Graham's hand when I recognized him at Merriweather years ago. <sniffle>) I'm pretty new to posting (as proof: where did my original draft of this go?!) Was a huge vinyl collector and still have it all. Baltimore in the '80s was *heaven* for fab shabby old record stores. Oh, the stories, oh, the album coups, oh, the place with Communist fliers in the front and the best, best albums in the back for around $2 a piece (Red's Records -- no, really).... Also managed to snag loads of good things when friends and acquaintances decided that CDs were the future and albums were garbage. (Silly wabbits.) And have a heap of my grandfather's 78s (Louis Armstrong! Fats Waller! Grampy was the jazziest guy!) and some old tube equipment. (Doesn't Jack say something to the driver in Under Great NS about driving carefully? "We haves tubes back here!"?) TMR has resuscitated the dormant album fetish, and I'm enjoying all the posts and people here. Promise to be less wordy in future posts, now that I've done my official intro. Hope everyone at the TMR party and those going to the upcoming shows have a great, great time. (PS -- Think anyone at TMR et al knows about Fender hitting Wall Street? Yoiks. http://dealbook.nytimes.com/2012/03/08/ ... f=business)

Hello all. I am new to the board and pretty new to the whole "board" thing in general. I was one of those assholes that bought things on eBay, thinking "Gee, that would be swell if there was somewhere to find decent people who would want to sell decent records for decent prices." Then one day I stumbled upon vinylcollective.com. Well, that pretty much sealed my bank account's fate. I found a ton of stuff at decent prices and then some.

I then started getting into TMR stuff and someone told me that the place for that kind of thing was whiteswirl. I didn't want to go all out and join another board just yet (I had also joined fatwreckwiki a few days before), so I held off for a little bit. Today, with the announcement of another Jack White single, I threw off my chains of worry and joined my third board. I thought that it was fitting that this was my THIRD board...get it.

Anyway, I know that out in California, I don't really have tons of chances to help people out with TMR items, but I will do my best to try and to help out with anything else that I can. I am a firm believer in helping out others at cost and shipping and that eBay flipping might be the closest one can get to killing kittens without actually committing the crime.

I'm going to stop now, because my posts tend to run on the wordy side. I am an English/Creative Writing teacher, so it happens sometimes.
I apologize for nothing!

Welcome aboard. This is a great place. Ignore the periodic hazing rituals and learn to differentiate between the members and the users. ;)
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles, I'm feeling very still...
